Nice soft capture. Would have liked to have his face with a bit more light but I love the crop and the expression.

It does appear as if the purple flowers have been engulfed in flames around the wood structure. Beautiful photo.

I see this every day from my window - where I'm st now. I live next to cemetary and there's one bloke sho comes every day and just stands looking around for about 1/2 an hour, then goes....

this just reminded me of that

Hi David,

I had 7 hours in Chicago in 2002 - on a transfer from O'Hare. Managed to get into the city and up Sears Tower for a glance around.

The skyline there is amazing, much more varied than New York if not as dense.

I remember looking down from the viewing platform to the building to the left of the tower and thinking it must be dinky, but it's almost 1000 feet tall itself!

Puts a scale on things :-)

That Aeon towwer to the right's pretty huge too.

As for the shot....

Great lighting, those rays are superb. I'd be tempted to uppthe saturation a little in photoshop to make the red sky a bit deeper - may as well use and abuse the natural light :-)

A minor detail, but the sea horizon is tilted a tiny bit to the right.

All in all a great shot of a monumental skyline.

Got any with the Hancock Building in?
