He reminds me a bit of my own son as a teenager -- he's now a poet (a very good one) and I see something of that in your son's face.

I like this because it's very simple, a "frozen moment" of adolescence, nothing fancy. It's interesting to guess personality from a shot like this, but I won't try - except he seems a bit skeptical. A good capture, nice work.

Hi Burak -- I was going to comment on this one when you posted it, and got distracted. I think what's best about this photo is the play of color and their soft tones. Colors and proportions are beautiful. Sure, the kids are bored, and that's not so unusual (!), so it's really the color and light that I think make this a fine photo.

Great shot -- it almost seems there's no glass there. Very well framed and composed.

Thanks, Roby -- I love your work, you have great street photos and portraits. We're headed to Trapani, Sicily this fall (with the Pentax!), we're learning Italian, and someday perhaps we can meet.

I appreciate your good thoughts. - Ned

Great shot and tone, feels like it could be another era, like wartime... the stairs feel cold and a bit ominous. - N

This is a spectacular composition, a very arresting photo -- wondering what the scene is and why they're dressed like that. Magnificent color and light.

These are beautiful still lifes (both 1 and 2) and great work with your dof and shutter speed -- amazing clarity, lighting and wonderful tones (I've also used Portra and like it for its slightly softer tonality). Congrats!

Good portrait -- the wide startled eye, the blacks and whites. I like the minimalistic approach.

Moody indeed -- startling image, sharp contrasts of buildings, the very peculair sky,the hills that seem to go forever. Hardly run of the mill!

Fun shot that feels a little chaotic, but then it's NYC in winter (!) I know this neighborhood well, and it's great to see your treatment of it. Nice shot.
