Hi Mark -- yes, a great capture of fear, wonder, happiness. These street photos are great -- I really enjoy them.

Hello Bahram -- wonderful character in this photo! Looks like the lollipop is quite a battle for him! Great candid. - regards, Ned

Hi Thomas -- What I like about your Italy street shots is your affinity for sense of place. It's very true here, with the mix of cars, scooters, pigeons, and the dome anchoring the distance. It's a simple photo, but it's an inviting scene...

Astonishing clarity and color and wonderful reflections. An enviable photograph! Congratulations!

Oustanding composition, very stark photo. It was good, I think, to include so much of the floor in the foreground which creates plenty of space and enhances the man's isolation. Very fine shot!

Beautiful shot, both sky and cliffs. I like the haze on the horizon and the glow of light around the tiny people. Very nice work.

I like the use of grain here, and also how you caught all the lights flaring through the trees. Great mood, with the lone walker.

Fun arrangement of different postures! It would be great to see this photo big, so we could get more detail, but it's a good still life, I think. Regards - Ned

This is gorgeous! Composing the subject off center, the flowering tassels on the left, the leaves on the right, and the crispness of detail. Makes me think digital might be in my future (slowly, kicking and screaming...) Great photo, Andre.

Really effective and unusual shot, and eerily reflective (pun?) of Plath, with the fragmented mirror bevels... nicely irreverent, too, with the bubble gum.

Hi Cassia -- wonderful landscape shot. I'm thinking it might be more effective if you can desaturate the sky a bit (it's very dominant) which would give a little more "pop" to the distant islands and hills. A beautiful place, indeed! - regards, Ned

Perfect occasion for wide angle for total dof and the strong shadow in f.g. Fine work, shooting into the sun and getting so much color and clarity. Nice shot.

This photo is very busy, and yet really well done with your color and toning work and sharp focus on the sheep. It feels gloomy and a little desperate. Very strong effect.

Great photo, great capture of a moment of giving. Just legs and feet around the man, which is very effective framing. Nice work.

Hi Timothy -- this will be a slightly political note. These three portraits you've posted have great quality, I think, and intriguing toning and cropping. They're good! And yet, no comments on them...

I think too many UF contributors spend their time building networks to garner lots of response to photos that often aren't very good, for reasons that make no sense to me, when the whole idea is to become better at the craft. Okay, enough... I hope most of us on UF don't fall prey to that temptation. These 3 portraits are strong and deserve strong response.

I love the color and the huge, happy dark eyes. Very arresting photo indded. Congrats!

These are great fun and have wonderful tone. The last one (lower right) deserves its own space -- an excellent portrait! Great work, Rachel.

Good - I guess size matters! Actually, this looks good big, with more texture to the rocks and low clouds. The angles are strong. Really beautiful.

Gyorgy -- wonderful magical treatments in this series. And thanks for explaining your PS work to make it happen -- a big help to people (like me) who are new to it and may wish to try different effects.

Hi Dwight -- I'm learning much from this wonderful shot, a day after I did my own "egg shoot" in MF, very slow shutter with natural light, hoping to post late next week. DoF here is a matter of choice, I think, and it works beautifully here. I'm going for a white on white effect and hope to avoid too much PS to make it right. You've got fine work here...

This is one of the finest architecture photos I've ever seen. It says much about human nature -- how we design for others, and how we live in those designs. An award-winner, I hope. Congratulations on such fine work.

A great face, energy and expression. Catching people in mid-sentence can deliver some striking impressions of their character! Good shot.
