Very night night sky - do like those muted colors - really makes a very effective backdrop for the buildings. Like your composition too. Jan

Great action shot! Racing like this must take a bunch of skill and courage.

I believe that you did darn good to catch what you did on this shot. Their leaps happen so fast and only last for a split second. Good job.

Looking forward to seeing more shots of this area. The sunrise shots you posted were great. Really am going to have to start getting to bed earlier and getting up earlier so I have a chance of catching sunrise shots. LOL

I can picture a small cabin nestled in those trees, and these front steps led you up to porch that had a rocking chair or two so sit in after a long hot day filled with chores. Would be fun to explore the surrounding area and perhaps dig here and there and see what you could find (if you could legally do it on this property)in the way of artifacts. At the right of the staircase, was there more to the stone structure than what appears in the photo? Nice composition and very peaceful. Stacked stone structures made without using mortar are very common in Italy and England and in many areas of the east and southeastern USA. Really like the variety of shapes and colors in formations such as these.

Nice action shot Greg - sure appears that the man sitting in the front towards at the right is not very impressed with the magnificent stallion and his and his rider's performance. Not too sure how anyone can watch the Lipazzaners perform and not be impressed. When I saw the show, I especially liked the "dancing on air" portion.

The beautiful blue sky makes an outstanding backdrop to the canopy of fall-colored leaves. Really like the composition on this one. The tree on the right makes a great anchor for the angled skinny branches. Well seen, great shot.

Sharp, crisp colors, and cool contrast between rocks and sky. Excellent composition.

Breathtakingly beautiful. These formations are hundreds of thousands of years old. Can't help but wonder how awesome they looked when first formed. Looking at views such as this makes one feel very insignificant and very humble. Thanks for sharing this "dawning of a new day" with us.

So much better than the "average" high school senior stereo-typical shot. Makes you wonder what he is thinking about as he has a very introspective and pensive look on his face. Do like the lighting in this and the shot is perfect done in black and white - not sure if it would have the same impact in color. Jan

Awesome shot. Even better than the earlier post. The crystal-clear colors and reflections in the mirror-like surface of the Lake are wonderful. Even with just a few wispy clouds the sky is terrific, and the colors are true from foreground to background, in the light and in the shadows. Glad you left the rocks with the tiny flowering plant in the foreground - really adds to the shot and makes your eyes travel all the way to the mountains. Bet this is outstanding in pano. Super thanks for sharing this one.

Colors, composition, clarity, and reflections - outstanding. Well done - well worth just sitting and enjoying the view without having to think about F stops, etc. Thanks for sharing.

Quilting is going great - just not enough hours in the days to explore all of the different patterns and color mixes I really want to try. Still haven't gotten one done for the king-size bed in our master bedroom - probably because I am still trying to get a quilt made for each of the children - but have made at least one quilt for the grandchildren. I have even made a quilt out of fabric prints I made of some of my floral photos. Now just need to get a decent shot of the quilt and upload it. LOL Jan

Tiffany - it is good to see you posting your delightful and candid children's portraits again. "Giggles" is a case in point. What a cutie, and do like the composition - fits really well with her smile.

I haven't posted in over a year, and plan to get back with my photography again really soon.

Wow Darlene - love the background on this one. Really makes his face stand out and features his huge eyes and the super makeup job someone did. By-the-way, his expression was perfect for his costume! So glad we have decent weather for you on this trip. LOL Jan

Very nice composition - good lighting and details and like the reflections of the sunset in the water. Horizon level is slightly tilted down on the right - bring up a hair or two (well, perhaps 4-5 hairs) on the right side to straighten.

Beautiful - your Maple Pass Trail's composition and the winding trail led the viewers in to the scene. The composition of this shot and the sloping sides of the mountains that surround the small like allows the viewer to slide right down in to the heart of the shot. Another super shot - and now I am going to take a look at the rest of your portfolio and see if your other landscapes are as nice as these two. Based on the thumbnails on the right of this page - I am in for a treat! Do like landscapes. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Very nice composition and rich colors - the soft slightly blurry focus gives the impression of a painting. The winding trail leads you right in to the scene.

Do like the three-shot series you posted of Ryan. Talk about giving you a tiny glimpse in to some of the many facets of her personalty. Really like this b/w shot - You can read so much in to the shot. She could be marching onto a field like the cheerleaders do - or stalking away cause she is ticked off. To my mind, this shot looks like she is showing a little attitude - regardless love all three shots. Thanks for sharing.

Great stitch job resulting in a very nice composition. The clouds are wonderful - but have to agree with Mary - IMHO the blue in the sky's color is a little too intense - almost a royal blue and some navy on my screen - as is the sharp contrast between the light and dark areas of the clouds. Will admit that the coloring does make the whole shot a little surreal.

I really like this and the way you composed it. The sky is a perfect backdrop for the monument at sunset. Clouds would have detracted from the sense of movement that the birds and the ocean waves give to - at least - this viewer. Thanks for taking the shot and sharing it! This shot is MUCH better than the one that appeared in that calendar! Mom
