spot light of the sun over the buildings are realy perfect. very soft contrast and exposure. very creative use of the signboards to make a new meaning and concept for this cityscape.

Joel,

Thank you for the kind words.

You should have seen me dancing around like Baryshnikov to meter the snow without leaving a footprint.

Cheers,
Johnny

Brittle mood!

I love the cold of the snow on the sidewalk, with no footprints, and the lonely bench that almost looks inviting.

well done! awesome b/w conversion... and perfect exposire for the snow!

Howdy John,

wow... thanks for the link to a crazy amazing photographer!
..this one blows me away:
http://www.usefilm.com/image/1177636.html
..gonna suggest it in the forum for POD.

Man, i hear ya... it's so great to re-live the art of photography, and not the chore of shooting 800 images, and sifting through for that one that almost feels good. It's just great to take the time, and make it feel good from the start.

So glad you're feelin it too!

cheers buddy! ..and very nice shot!

Joel,

Thank you so much.

I have been watching your postings over the last week, and also seeing this photographers posts http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/63904.html, got me to thinking that I miss film.

So today, with my D200 and handheld light meter, I went practicing for a Mamiya RZ67 I have been looking at; this is the shot I got.

I had forgotten how nice it is to create a photograph without "chimping" the LCD, and without mulligans.

Thanks for stopping around, and stirring the memories of film.

Cheers,
Johnny

John,

Awesome b/w!

I love the almost infared feel from the highlights. Brilliant details, and I love the reflections. Very nice w/ the 1/15 exposure for the waterfall!

...nice touch with the medium format gate ;) I prefer Kodak400TX Pro ;)

cheers, and great job!

Olga,

Thank you.

Yes, that tree could have been my last hold on life, it was very windy that day and I had the feeling of helplessness standing near that edge.

Regards,
John
