James,

Shooting for HDR is not hard at all.

With the camera mounted to a tripod, I set it up for bracketing nine frames with a sepration of .07 exposure value between them. I also have the camera set to 5fps continuous shooting, I use a Nikon MC-30 Remote Cord to fire the shutter. Voila, all captured and ready for Camera Raw/CS2.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
John

do you use the exposure bias to get all the exposures or some other way? love to know how you went about it :)

great work, john...

cheers..

The benefits of HDR are evident, perfect detail in the shadows. Great shot, well done on your first attempt at HDR.

I like all 3 images from this "deadwood" serie, there is very nice soft tone and I really prefer black and white images, are more dramatic and seem to me more artistic. Very nice, became my favourite and canīt stop watching it :)

yay! another break from cleaning/packing for moi...

right on,JK...perfection!...glad you left in full floor as FG table doesn't bother enough to lose where the light hits on the floor...oddly enough i was so taken by the hues and light that i just now noticed the plastic bottle and whatever else is up there...
LOL about leaving "unmolested"....and i was just beginning to think you were fun...ba da bing! ;>

if you get the chance and feel so inclined, let me know which images of mine appeal to you...i haven't posted since July, but been here 3yrs.so have a few to choose from...later
cheers back at cha',gayle

*BTW,you can drop the formal "Ms" as only there this year because too many guys from other countries thought i was a dude and some got macho in forums with me...hahaha

Ms. Gayle,

How does this cropped version work for you?

Also, sneaking around in the closed off areas had its rewards, this shot, and a dirty look from a librarian. She fit in perfectly with my perceptions of what a city librarian should look like. Her look was of "vengeance is mine", but I escaped unmolested.

Cheers,
Johnny

hi,good memory for how light falls in images...quality of light is a biggie for me as at times it is very poetic...i would crop down to just below the eggshell colored ceiling border...like the repetition in the reflections...also like that you sneaked in as i have done on more than one occasion...

The quality of light rocks here,JK...good focus and comp subjects against the dark BG works very well.....man,if this is what you get by accident, then i applaud you!...nice face, too

John, great take on this image, focus, color and composition seem to on, one little nit with me is the table in the bottom right corner, but what is one to do. IMO I would crop the top down to the point on the left side of the beige portion of the drop ceiling. The lighting on the wall is very much like "Milk Maid" good image and well conceived. Just my ideas and opinions.
