As it is, it's a wonderful, autumnally golden scene, Roger. No need for self-recrimination.

Excellent detail, colour and plenty of interest, with the central tree and the figures off-centre. I see you have taken a fellow photographer, to add the icing on the cake. 7.

Thanks for your forum contribution, Roger. Apparently I'm in a minority of one. By the replies, I see that laziness is to be accepted.

Regards
Colin

Alan! Great to see you here - and welcome.

I'm glad our (freezing) chance meeting at the "Angel", has inspired you to join this site. You are the only photographer, here, I've actually met!

Your first image is a fine start. Wonderful light in both the sunset sky, and from the harbour lights.I particularly admire the foreground concrete texture, (almost an abstract shape in itself!)to emphasize the distance scene.

Excellent crop, with good symmetry, and no extraneous detail to distract.

This one is going into my favourites, and I'm rating it a seven, Alan

Are you putting some bio info, (and pic) on.

Best regards
Colin.

Szia Robert. This is very fine photoart, Robert. Rendkivul elkepzelt. I love the transparent, alternating with the opaque colours.
Remek! Nagy kepzelotehetsegu elvont.

It does indeed, effectively invoke the essence of the 'autumnal tones', of your title. Exceptional. 7.

Csodalatos atfogoo fogalmazas!

You should have taken a harbour shot up here, in Geordieland, Chris, with a title like that!
...thou shalt have a fishy on a little dishy, when the boat comes in...(sang in a broad geordie accent!)

The vivid colours, detail and fine composition. Good crop. I especially like the green of the water - very tranquil. The clouds have good contrast, also.

A nice autumnal scene in the park, Joanna. A hint of some classic looking buildings, through the foliage. Interesting contrast of old and new lamps, making guest appearances, also.

A nice quirky title, for the birdies that you've just managed to squeeze in!

Stunning perspective, cousin Jeff!!

The moon at the zenith, is the masterly stroke. The choice of monochrome, seems to emphasize the dizzying aspect.

Exceptional architectural fingers, pointing at their lunar diety.

I love the vertical perspectives, also, Do you have this one in a colour version? Hmmm, how about a fisheye version!!

Capital photoart! (sorry, must be the full moon, mixed with ginseng)

Regards, super-cuz, Colin.

Timekeeper! Your visage is revealed! I imagined you with a huge black cloak - and peering out, a series of jet-black arachnid eyes (like your "Blackie"!) and a tell-tale camera, dangling from under the cloak!

Interesting and sinister - but the biggest mystery to me, is why you get so few comments!!!

Seven, from Colin.

Another journey into the realms of 'Otherworld', with a heady trip, fuelled by the 'Miller Magic!!

Not a hint of a birdie, or brolly - but this hits you right in the surreal, inner eyeball.

An exquisite and colourful, reflective beauty - my non-reciprocating, friend!

Stunning, 7, and evoking an emotive response, marra!

An excellent, sepia-toned cityscape, with a hint of surreallism in the pseudo-sky. I love the mental title. It appeals to my adolescent sense of humour! It has more than a hint of a sci-fi cityscape, to this quirky, viewer.

Regards
Colin

P.S. I like your nutty bio pic, and equally humourous bio, Paul. Very good.

This is one weird shot, Husmen! From the thumb, it looks like a pair of dastardly-lit eyes, peering out from a torture-filled cabin. These silent, stone walls of the rock tombs in Dalyan, could tell some interesting tales...

I orginally mistyped the first sentence, as,
" This is one weird shot, Human!"
Hmm, maybe your image is reaching out to me, too well!!!

Thanks very much, John. I appreciate both the positive words on my photoart, and the kind offer.

It's interesting that you're a carpenter, (my name's Cartwright!) I traced my great grandfather, who made coffins! He came from Yorkshire, and moved up 'north', here, in Victorian times.

My favourite of your last 4 bird photos, Darlene. I love this one for the impressive, and higly selective, focus. The complementary, blurred background, concentrates attention upon the tri-coloured, heron.

I also like the fact that the bird is small, in relation to the overall image - which makes an interesting change to the close-ups. Excellent.
An irrefutable seven!

A wonderful and colourful portrayal of the dead leaves, that only autumn colours can give. I'm surprised that the dull light has brought out the colours, John. As I find the hues are emphasized, in full afternoon light.

The dark wood as background, accentuates your leaves, nicely. Saving as favourite, John.

Exquisite golden colours in this beautiful composition, Patrizio! Well observed and pleasing proportion, between the trees and the leaf-strewn ground.

Colori squisiti ed in modo bello composti, d'autunno, Patrizio. Proporzioni estetico soddisfacenti, fra gli alberi e la terra (con la moquette di va!) L'ultimo dell'oro. Un vincitore del premio meritato pozzo!

Ringraziamenti per le vostre osservazioni premurose, Patrizio.

Saluti e ciao

An excellent critique, Giuliano!

If you meant that we should stick to photography or painting, in rigid compartmentalized boxes, then that is one point of view. But I like to be flexible, and if my photography does not remind me of the actual atmosphere, or event at that point in time, then I cannot see why you should not use modern software manipulation, to the purpose it was intended.

We all have different opinions and tht is what makes sites like this so interesting (and addictive!).

Riguardi gentili e ciao

A fascinating choice of photographic subject, Giuliano. I see by your portfolio, that you love the world of monochrome, black and white! I'm sure this image would be better in colour, (I lived in greyness, for many years, with cataracts) But I like the odd jetty, and hint of Ligurian coastline interest. Superb light and subtlety of contrast, create a fine, sea/landscape.

Thanks for the eloquent, and thought provoking critique, on my "Apricale Magic", Giuliano. I'll reply to that one soon.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Dana. I liked my original photo, (which I have posted below it), as it was such a beautiful area of Italy.

However, I felt it needed some 'painted' effects, to emphasize, (and try to recreate), my memory of this atmospheric and unspoilt place.

The images from these past holidays, make excellent, photo manipulation material!

Shalom, ubracha, Dr Rafi.

A wonderful and tranquil abstract. Simple, yet an effective and colourful, digital floral.
A memory of warmer meditteranean holidays. Also, reminds me of tie and dye, at school art classes, long ago!

This would make a good, desktop background, Rafi.

Roger. The 800 pixel restriction ( even in panorama), still gives enough, for a flavour of the original - just enough to comment.

This is a fine, no frills film image, with a good sense of a modern, (Japanese) dawn scene.

An excellent colour-intensive, floral turned abstract, Markus. I particularly like the texture, which has an almost amber-gold, rock or ice impression. Very good.

Szia, Gyorgy.
My canon S2 has some trouble focusing upon the moon, Gyorgy. I get this level of acuity. So I've given up on the thing (except in landscapes for effect!). But your lunar image is nicely framed, with the textured border. Good isolation on the black background also.

A beautiful capture of this lovely little youngster. This fawn has some effective camouflage colouring in the twigs. Superb focus, (my canon would let me down, here)

You have the ability to be just in the right place. Do you spend hours waiting patiently, Dave?.

Thanks for making the effort to comment, Steve. I think you may have a point, about the canvas texture being too much. Perhaps just a hint less, may have been the correct balance.

But I wanted to create the painted effect, as I spent a lot of time designing the watercolour work.

The original is below (for anyone interested). This was taken with a cheap, little compact, film camera.
