Excellent composition Maarten, from the light creating a halo at the top of the pylons in the fog to the warm glow of the city in the middle and clear reflections in the water below... Henry would be proud...

The lighting on the petals is wonderful. I think we need about a 1/4 or an 1/8 of an inch on the bottom so we don't loose that loose canon of a stamen.

Maarten,
I really like looking at the shots in this project because it gives me a chance to go back into the portfolios of the photogragher and see their other work and try to get an Idea of why they choose the shot they did for the best photo they ever took. As I looked back through your folio, I found you have taken some pretty good shots. Some of your flower shots are great in my opinion. The city scape shot at night is another great shot. Although I wondered why you choose this one? Is it because of the composition, being there at the right time? If so, I do understand your choice. I enjoy your work, keep'em coming!

I love how all the petals meet at the bottom, making for a good composition. It is a shame that the top anthers dissapear in the BG as these are a significant part of the photo.The angles of the petals look great and I think you did well in the general angle of shooting. I also like the dots on the petal bases.

Hey Maarten, I like the colour here. The background would have been nice with more colour too since the green part looks better than the darker black BG, but it isn't like you can move in any position either with macro stuff.I am trying it and have a sore back already. Where was this taken, your back yard or a garden somewhere? Nice. I like how the rose is a perfect specimen too. Sometimews you think one looks OK and then you see it magnified with holes and dead bits all over it....ooooh man.Well done, keep 'em coming!
