Thank you for all the kind remarks. The sunrise was particularly orange that morning. The gold was all around us. I used the normal 14 segment metering on the camera since this was the last frame on the film and I had to run to get near the cliff. After I changed film the gold had diminished conciderably and the frames lack the lustre seen in this one.

Fantastic light and great composition. My only nit-pick would be that it would be stronger without the bit of foreground bottom right but I guess you would have disappeared over the edge if you'd tried avoiding that!

Maarten, it looks like you have improved dramatically since I last visited your portfolio. This photo is a postcard perfect shot, with beautiful colours, nicely saturated and composed. I also noticed that you moved to trannies and I think you will now find it hard to go back to negs for your landscape stuff after producing these results with Velvia. Well done.

Hi Maarten, Good shot, very well exposed. I like the blue tones and the green lighting. A very good combination.
On a more technical note, to Maria's comment, I agree (partially) concerning the apperture I have omitted the word value. And although the DOF does get shallower with a larger focal lenght (as you mention, it is relative over the distance. In this setting, I don't think it would've helped... I'll try to be even more specific, it is kind of confusing. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
