Thanks again Kay. Yes, the aquarium is tough. I ended up with about a dozen keepers after four days and a 1 gig card.

Thank you Kay. I see a great deal of humor in your work too. I think "Bird Brain" would go well with my Pelican. I really like your portfolio!

What noise? Great shot of a wonderful fish. Well done- aquarium lighting can be tricky but you got it well.

My, Gary, you really really like to turn the wick up on your saturation, don't you! A bit too much for me, I'm afraid.

Thanks Huub,
It's not much of a secret, but at the loss of quality of photo. I never use flash or any out of water lighting. All lighting is available from the above fixtures in the aquarium display. The downside is a higher ISO, translating to more noise in digital. Another problem is that most aquariums do not allow tripods for obvious reasons. I never use one anyway as a couresy to other guess. Results, high noise and imperfect focus from animal movement. But thanks for your comments. This was a rare capture.

I always wonder how to get sharp pics, and to avoid the reflection in the aquarium glass... but you did well!

I thought I recognized the style. This looks like something shot with Fuji Superia film, even to the slight yellow cast.

Thanks Gabriela,

I did mess around with this 30-year-old image with Photoshop, but I do believe that's all part of our creative art. A few months ago when I found this old negative in a shoe box, I was quite pleased how I could bring it back to life. Thanks again for your interest in my portfolio.

Thank you Gabriela. Good suggestion, and in fact I have often thought of that. I always decided against it because I felt it was a kinda good contrast of image. I think I'll play around with it though! Thanks again for your comments. I'm gonna check out your portfolio. - Gary -
