Melanie, I took a look at your bio, and you have such a great portfolio! I love photographing children, and you have some beautiful children! This photo really melts my heart as well. I took a trip to africa not knowing what to expect and this photo truly captures the deep sadness that so many of the people, especially the children, live through every day. On the other side of this, there is immense joy there that i never could have imagined. The children's faces and their eyes especially made an enormous impact on me and are something that i will never forget.

Cheryl, I love this lens and have had a lot of success with it. I especially enjoy using it when i am traveling because the zoom allows me to take a wide variety of shots without having to change lenses. I am a very amateur photographer, but from my experience i would highly recommend it. I hope this helps!

Yeah...I wish that i could have focused more on the tiger, but sometimes my digital camera just doesn't want to cooperate with me. It is highly frustrating because i can see a great shot but the camera will refuse to focus. Any suggestions?

Steve...I love to capture sunsets and you certainly did a beautiful job with this one. I just read your comments on my photo of my mother and i really appreciate the feedback. I think that is one of my best photo's yet...i just happened to be in the right place at the right time. She did love the picture and she has an 8x10 hanging on the wall at her beach house. I see that you have a Canon digital rebel....have you enjoyed this camera? I love using a digital camera but i really feel like it doesn't give me a lot of control. I have been shopping around for a digital SLR and so far the rebel looks like the best option to me.

This gator was at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas (believe it or not!). They have a huge shark reef there and a lot of exotic animals like this gator.

I actually took this picture from a helicopter. If anyone ever has the opportunity to take a helicopter tour of the grand canyon i highly recommend it. It was one of the most amazing and beautiful things that i have ever done!

Steve...i love all of the colors in this photo....great shot! thank you for your comments on my gator photo. i am just a beginner so i appreciate the feedback. i tried cropping out some of the spots that you mentioned but i did not have much success. do you have any suggestions for some good photo editing software? i really have just played around with really basic software so i haven't been able to do a lot. I am thinking of putting some kind of software on my christmas list though so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. best regards, marie c.
