Great shot, Greg. Love the lighting, composition, focus, all perfect. Very eloquent of 'winter'. Well seen and captured.

I love this shot, Theron, the slight asymmetry is good, but what makes it is the clever use of the background, the bands of colour and tone it provides. Looks like an abstract painting, and if it were, it'd sell for squillions! Well seen and executed.

Good work, James. Very expressive, don't need the title or explanations to know what it's about. You've achieved the Holy Grail with this one, it's about losing, not just about this particular loss!

I like it! Almost mono, but with a splash of colour. Well seen.

This is a very pleasing, simple but effective composition. However, on my monitor at least, I can't see much detail in the flower heads, I think it'd be a stronger image if they were lightened (or had been lit) to bring that out more.

This is a nice composition, Jack, but I found the burnt out areas in the sky a bit off-putting. I think it'd be a stronger image if the whole sky area was darkened down somewhat, bring out all the detail that's there, it'd provide a dramatic contrast with the more peaceful sand and sea.

Bravo! Love the point of view, the composition, the lighting, and figures humanising the scene.

Wonderful shot. Love the reflection in the eye, and all the sharp detail.

Nice one! Great composition, splash of colour, perfectly placed. Decisive moment, too.

I like your bird pics, Gary, particularly this one, the lighting's so good. I always think it's important to see the eye, to catch a bit of a glint in it, like here.
You've got a steady hand, and lots of patience, no doubt. Good work.

A pleasing image, that raises more questions than it answers!
Nice contrasts between lines and curves, order and disorder, and a fine composition. Well taken.

Another pleasing shot, Avelino, good composition, striking contrasts between light and shade, and ancient modern. Well seen.

As I've commented on one of your other images, though, I'd just like to see the highlights better controlled, bit more colour in there, less burnt out. It'd make a good shot great.

This shot made me laugh, Chase, it's well seen and captured. I wondered what focal length you had to use to get it, were you at the full 300mm? To my eye, the best part of it is the face and paw, and I wondered whether some cropping might make it stronger. I've taken the liberty of experimenting - what do you think?

Nice one! Perfect focus, like the sparkle in the eye, and the bit of seed in the beak just makes it! Not only 'framed', but caught in the act!

I should make sure you hang on to your fiance, it's a great idea! And perfectly captured. One of those images where you say, why didn't I think of that? Perfectly simple, but so satisfying. Nice work, both of you!

I loved the colours and compososition in this photo, bart, but found the burnt out areas (presumably where the beam from spotlights first hits the stonework) a bit off-putting.

I notice you were shooting JPEG; do you not have a RAW option with the EOS 350D? Shooting RAW would give you so much more exposure latitude, you can do a lot of post-processing on a PC to keep highlights under control, before saving as a TIFF or JPEG.

Just a thought.

Nice image, Mustafa. I love tree shots, they are such a compelling mixture of delicacy and strength. The figure working in the background makes the shot for me, it provides another sense of contrast, between the daily concerns of people, and the long term continuity of nature.

Sorry if I've missed what you were trying to do in this shot, but I found the burnt out highlights off-putting. Nice pattern, though. I'm just itching to do some processing on the RAW data, put some colour back into those highlight areas. I think there's a stunning shot in there, just waiting to be brought out.

Nice title, it does seem a bit sad, doesn't it. Love the light, and the splash of colour in what is otherwise almost monochrome.

Nice one, James. Pleasing contrast of colours (and textures, with the clouds), perfectly exposed, the sharpness just right for the subject. Oh, and nifty composition, too!

I'm surprised no-one has commented on this so far, it's a great portrait. Deceptively simple, but I like the angle in the shoulder, and head leaning back, suggesting a man at ease with himself. Good composition, and background. Nice work.

Hallo Dave, I love this shot, great lighting and composition, the sheen on the petals is capured perfectly. Also, just the right balance in the background, the way one flower head is isolated, the other connected to the stem etc.

Also, thanks for 'being there for me' and ready to comment on my few recent offerings; I've struggled to do anything worthwhile lately, hence infrequent posts.

Hope to be back in business big time from now on, though. Quite excited with my first digital SLR (Pentax K10D) and the possibilities it offers eg wider angles of view, smaller apertures etc.

A satisfying, deceptively simple shot. That patch of light just as the path disappears makes it, it captures your philosphy about the new trail ...

Brilliant! Wonderful composition, perfect balance in the focus, so much information captured, and much more hinted at.
You just know those guys would be a rich fund of stories.

Is this real, Giuseppe? Or some black magic in Photoshop?! It's a stunning image, the great mass of the mountain seems to float above the foreground. What I call a 'minds eye' shot, how you imagine things to be, you're just drawn into the distance.
