That's a "Fantastic" just using a zoom lens and not a prime! Especially with film of course.
Lines, focus, and detail are top notch in my book young "lady"

Barbara,
Now don't I feel silly with my last comment on your work. I didn't realize you had all these awards before my 1st comment regarding your work... dah?
Of course it' a boat tied up girl. Such "Wonderful" work I should not judge whatsoever in my wildest dreams!
I'm just in Awe! Camera of yours seems like a pretty good rig. Judi Liosatos did work like yours. I think she is with God now, but her work lives on always.

Barbara,
Now this shot is so "Great" it scares me girl. Very fine detail regarding the DOF using f/8. Good choice by the way (IMHO)... The colors just "POP" out in my face and I can't take my eyes off of this capture my friend.
Keep up the "Awesome" Work,
Marty

Once again I hope and pray you forgive my ignorance, but how did you get the bird in the photo along with the kitten? Do not give your secrets away here, but email Stan later..
It was great to meet You & Jim when Stan was in town a few years back.
Take good care,

Hey Greg, Nice prime lens as I own one. Shutter seems correct as well as the f/ stop, but why the very high ISO at 1250? were you shooting in the dark with no flash or what?
Colors may be a little over popped and the grain with the high ISO brings a little more noise than one would like. However I love the centering, composition, background and overall shot. Maybe a little over the top on PS, but It's your shot. For that lens It should have been much sharper than it is. Mainly because to the high ISO. Use a tripod next time if the light is too low to get the perfect shot... With that lens I will give you a look at very little PS and A very low ISO example link on my next comment.
Well done my friend,
Martin

According to Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary “Photography” means: “The art or process producing images on a sensitized surface (as film or CF card) by the action of radiant energy and especially light” For me, that means “Painting with Light, Digital Style". ;)
I never saw where it said being a graphic artist using PS counted as Photography?
I just can't wrap my mind around totally manipulating a image shooting with film or digital using a computer to get an award?
I have waited hours for the sun to come up to get the correct light for the shot. I have also tricked my camera to get the right light, but never used a computer to get it for me? I do crop, sharpen, resize and change colors, but never totally change the original photo such as this.
Just saying! Don't get me wrong as this is an excellent photo for a magazine, but should it be on a photography site for real photographers?
Love,
Marty

Hey Shirley,
I was in your neck of the woods last Friday and Monday. Are you and Jim doing well? Between you and Harry it's hard to judge who is doing better... LOL
I do love your lines, detail and clarity, as well as the grain. Very tough shoot to say the least. How is it you are still shooting film? Talked to Stan the other day and he is still hard at it.
I saw in my email where you commented on my new posts, but when I went to this site they were not there. Since you have been here on the new site a long time would you see what their issues are, because I would love to hear your comments.
Thank you my friend,
Martin

Hey Harry,
Nice work with a prime lens. Perfect lines, awesome POV and a bit of expert cropping my friend... Well done indeed. Wow they really changed up the site since I was last on here and I'm still learning. I saw where Shirley commented on my stuff regarding some emails, but when I went to this site nothing was there. Only your comment?
Let her know I did want to reply, but can't do to this site???
