Yeah, isn't that just crazy? Something about keeping the main subject in either the left or right third providing a 'flow'... I dunno, probably wasn't paying much attention. These days I pull down the cone of silence if I hear anyone talking rules... f**k that

Not sure Mr Armani appears unless he's being insulted, or, you clap three times and repeat: "I DO believe in Marcus! I DO believe in Marcus! I DO believe in Marcus!"

oh yeah and the centered thing.. meant to say.. it the second compositional thing I teach in my classes.. the centralisation of the object alters the visual hierarchy of the image and leaves the viewer in no doubt as to what the most important thing in the image is.. I didnt know there was a rule about it.. but I have a saying Rule No1 There are no rules... I am aware that some judges pooh pooh the centralised composition.. but as I say the judges are idiots..unless they give you the prize

Well said my lovely girl.....who needs rules? What we need is great photos with the subject anywhere in the d--n frame that it pleases.
Well done this looks great with just enough blur for the motion and not too much to disguise what it is. I must say these butterflys with yellow beaks are pretty rare now I KNOW what it is, I was being silly Rina. You did a good job with the cloning and I love that blurry reflection in the water and those beautiful tones. Well done to you my gorgeous girl. A HUUUUGE HUUUUG, a BIG KIIIIISSSSSS and my very best wishes to you and the family as always.....Ray X

Hi Rina,
You must have heard this quote about blurred images.

"One blurred image is a mistake.
Ten blurred images is an experiment.
One hundred blurred images is a style!"
Don't know who said that. :)

Well, not exactly "no processing" as I had to clean up sensor dust and add a touch more contrast. What I meant was that I hadn't applied any arty/painterly software filters over a straight image. You'd be surprised how many people would think it was photoshopped digital art instead of photography...

Anyways, thanks for the nudge. Nice to hear from such a famous internet celebrity! ;P

So far, my year's been pretty hectic. Hope all is well with you!

Love it Andre! What a beautiful, happy accident. Wonderful streaks of light and colour. Sharpness is such a bourjois concept.

You should have accidents more often ;)

Hey Lady! how have you been, hope the new year has started out with a bang for you! Its pretty amazing that you did no post processing here but like a real photographer used the camera to do all the work, I guess you are a real photographer :)
Hope to hear from you soon..

Hi Rina,
We had a great holiday over Christmas, thanks!
I'll attach the image to this one. The camera was on a tripod and I realized the camera started tilting down slightly during a 5 second exposure. That is the reason for the elongated lights in the highrise buildings. Not spectacular, but interesting.

Hi Rina,
A belated Happy New Year to you!
It's good to see some familiar names back once in a while:)
You did a nice job of capturing the summer spirit with your shutter speed experiments.
I got a fairly interesting shot by accident last week when my tripod head crept down during a 5 second time exposure. I wish I could say I did it on purpose. :)
Maybe I'll post it later.
