Hi Micky, thanks for bringing this. Haven't been around to your portfolio for a while (sorry) Always enjoy this look at NZ that the likes of yourself, John, Ian and Greg plus others bring to UF. Nice shot. I spent many hours up here myself.

Thanks for sharing. I agree about the blue, doesn't seem to be much snow left?

Best wishes Neil

Hi Joann, sorry to hear about your computer. Hope all is back to normal. Love the colours on this one, really unusual. It does not worry me too much that it is not quite straight and the noise towards the top of the photo. I'm just intrigued by the variety of colours.

Nice shot

Hi Ryan, thanks for taking a look at my portfolio. I came across to have a look at yours. This is a nice scene and it looks like you had a great trip. I think you have lost a lot of details in the scan, and the upload. This file is only 64KB and you can go to 360KB you know! I also thought this would make a great B&W so i had a go for you.

Hope you don't mind and that you like the result.

Best wishes Neil

Great shot, beautiful treatment and great lighting. A pleasure to the eye!

Interesting image this one Mari.

I can see your friend is playing the piano but because of the way and the postion she has taken she appears to be very lonely and looking out of the window! It has a sort of melancholy look to it.

Nice work.

Best wishes from Switzerland

Hi Nesreen, nice shot of the sun going down. It is a little noisy and maybe you could have helped here by using a software like "Neat Image". This can work wonders with the right kind of image. This sort of smooth gradient as you have in the sky also suffers very quickly from the JPEG compression. But here it is not too bad. Look forward to seeing more of these ionteresting images from your part of the world.

Thanks for your comment,

Best wishes Neil

Hi there, Beautiful scenery which i hope to vist next month. I am coming to Tiers, Rosengarten. it must be somewhere near here? On a technical note i don't think the white balance is quite correct as this has a distinct bluish cast to it, pity.

Many thanks for visiting my 'St Tropez' photo and leaving a comment.

Hi Paul, i can't believe this. You write me a comment (by the way thanks!) and i come to visit your portfolio and what do i see a Newark barge.

GREAT! I went to school in Newark (Magnus) many years ago. Used ot live in Collingham so i know this area really well. Still have family around the Nottingham area. Nice to meet you on Usefilm.

I could imagine this photo with a much tighter crop. You still ahve a lot of empty space around the centre of attention which is the barge.

Catch you later!

Take care and best wishes from Switzerland

Hi Todd, i saw this when you first posted it and unfortunately didn't get around to commenting Now i have a chance. I really like it actually although i hope you don't get to kill the TV. You see i work for TV and would be without a job if everyone took your advice *smile*

Thanks for your comment on "St Tropez". This was an old photo of mine and basically straight of the camera. I have since reposted it for the "best of 2004" project where i worked a little more on the levels in PS and was able to get a little more out of the sky etc. it's somewhere in my portfolio if you wish to take a look. Many thanks for the comment.

Hi Fabiola, many thanks for your recent comment. This brought me to your portfolio. Excellent. I really like the way you present your work. It seems to me you take a lot of care about it and i admire that. This in particular is a great landscape. It's a pity it is so small. You can now post up to 800 pixels you know

Hallo Gerhard,

Hi Michele, nice shot. You have a similar one to this, but here the light is better. Maybe a step to the right would have helped to separate the two poles, perhaps even get rid of the telegraph pole as well? Nice work, keep it up. Thanks for the comment on 'St Tropez'

Hi Timur, welcome to UF. You have the start of a very good portfolio building up now. I particularly like this image and the "white pigeons". Both are very strong graphically and jump off the page at you with their vibrant colours. Nice work, keep it up!

Best wishes from Switzerland and also many thanks for your comment on "St Tropez"

Hi Tabitha, many thanks for your comment on "St. Tropez". it is actually an older shot and had not recieved a comment for almost a year . I reworked it and reposted for the "best of 2004" project where i was able to get the sky a little better. Unfortunately one cannot choose which photos get displayed on the fp
I like your photos from NZ, i used to live in Dunedin and my sister still lives in Wellington. That is what attracted me to the hutt valley photo. I attended many courses fro work in the Hutt Valley at Avalon. Do you know it?

Dear Chris,

?I FEEL SO BAD? because I haven?t commented on your work lately. ?DON?T ASK ME WHY? maybe it was ?JUST BECAUSE? you know
?OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND?

?ARE YOU SINCERE? about the Elvis puns Chris or did you just want to ?ASK ME??

OK ?PADRE?, ?LET ME? take up the challenge and see what sort of ?BIG LOVE, BIG HEARTBREAK? story i can come up with.

To me this photo brings back ?MEMORIES? of ?MEMPHIS TENNESSEE? when I said
?NEVER AGAIN? after ?MY ?BABY LEFT ME? ?ONE NIGHT?. I knew she was nothing but
?T-R-O-U-B-L-E?!
I asked her to ?GIVE ME THE MONEY HONEY? and ?RECONSIDER BABY? not to ?RUNAWAY?. ?SHE WEARS MY RING? after all and ?SHE THINKS I STILL CARE?.

But Chris, you know ?I?M LEFT, YOU?RE RIGHT, SHE?S GONE?, ?I GOT STUNG? ?I FEEL SO BAD? It I want ?SHOUT IT OUT?,
anything ?SOMETHING?.

What did I learn from all this...? well?
?ONCE IS ENOUGH? it was after all only a ?ONE SIDED AFFAIR? you know,
so come on Chris ?HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT?

In this ?CITY BY NIGHT? shot you have truly captured the Elvis ?FEVER? and ?THIS TIME?
?I BELIEVE? your shot here was not only down to ?BEGINNERS LUCK? because you are a good photographer. ?SEEING IS BELIEVING? as the saying goes and it seems you the same exposure system as me, I call it the ?DON?T THINK TWICE IT?S ALRIGHT? system.

Hope the outcome of your evening was ?A HAPPY ENDING?

Don?t forget whenever you see this photo again ?YOU?LL THINK OF ME? and when on your next holiday ?WRITE TO ME FROM NAPLES?

Now Chris ?YOU DON?T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME? remember I only did this
because ?YOU ASKED ME TO? and I was ?DOIN? THE BEST I CAN? ?FOR OL? TIMES SAKE?
Cheers for now ?GOT A LOT O? LIVIN? TO DO? ?HAVE A HAPPY DAY?
Neil

By the way nice photo! *smile*

Hi Paul, nice shot. great details in the sand which looks really good in B&W. I'm not too sure about the lack of detail in the cliff part, but that is a matter of taste. But still you've insopired me to try some B&W when i'm next down at the beach

Best wishes and of course not forgetting to say thanks for your support and comments you have given me.

Take care,

Your friend in Switzerland
