When I glanced through the thumbnails I thought I recognized the Bugaboos. Not so, Patagonia!

Black and White was a good choice here, in the genre of Ansel Adams et al. I find these are difficult because of the great tonal range. Well done.

Opportunity found. Takes skill to have luck. When all the rest of us would be wrapping up, those with insight wait a little longer. Hope your camera was OK.

Hello, Todd. I find bird photos especially difficult to shoot with a creative eye, as you have done here. Your usual exquisity sharpness, despite the waning light.

I'll add this one as a favourite. If you hadn't mentioned that it was shot in IR, I wouldn't have guessed. At first I was thinking, "Snow is a little too blue". But that's the way a snowscape often looks anyway. The contrasting colors of the building bring the viewer back to home. Classical placement, and a road offering promise, maybe unknown destiny. This feels strangely metaphysical.

I think I've been here, maybe in a dream....

Thanks, Paul and Rob. Strobist is great, though Flickr lacks the closer community discussions that can happen here.

Never seen one of these, except in books. Bizarre. I like the focus on the edge of disaster, though a little more DOF would have been nice. Perhaps flash would have allowed a smaller f-stop and greater DOF. Exquisite colors.

Your images seem plenty sharp to me. Maybe fill flash might have opened the shadows a little here.

You get surprisingly close with that 300, Todd. Brilliant sharpness. Another bird I've never seen, but I'll think of you when I do.

Hi Tim. Nice to find someone who isn't latitudinally impaired, as I seem to be these days. Have fun in the 'land of the upside-down moon'.

Piercing eyes, with a simple, uncluttered background. Great emphasis on the long leg-length of this species.

Brilliant panning, with just the right amount of blur, but enough sharpness to retain clarity of the bike. Was this done hand-held or on a tripod?

Thanks, Jack. My dogs are almost 9, littermates. They say that the color of a golden's ears are a good index of what they will look like as adults. If that is true, he will be a little darker than the blonde look right now.

Cheers,
