Thank you Don. Quite frankly, I was walking around the city with my cam in "tourist" mode. Although this was taken from the RAW file.

I like your photo a lot Gary. I was about to suggest a touch of unsharp mask to bring out the boat's structure a bit more, but I noticed processing artifacts in the clouds which would be made worse.
Still, this is an image I find very appealing.

This is fascinating. I find this building compelling - the clumps of moss and crooked chimney stack add to its appeal. Your third image is reminiscent of a painted illustration from an old fairytale book. I love it actually, although I'll be attacked for my blasphemy, no doubt. I think my motto from now on will be: "If you have demonstrated you know the (classical) Rules, by all means break them". You obviously know them Randy, so I'd 'fire at will" as it were haha!

Saad, at least in British, and I think N. American slang, "sexy" has taken on another meaning aside from its original: "Highly appealing or interesting; attractive: "The recruiting brochures are getting sexier". From dictionary.com

Thank you all kindly for your compliments. There are so many, I'd simply record my gratitude here. I would add that it's funny to me how a particular photo causes so much interest, and others barely any - often against expectations haha!. I had not expected it of this image!

Eeek Randy. In my monitor at least these greens look odd. I want to see more details of that fascinating building too. What settings are you using for the Dry-Brush? For God's sake don't be influenced by my crude attempts at PS - you are a landscape artist of real merit, and I'd feel rather upset if I dragged you down, unwittingly, to my level!
Warmest,
Anthony

Hi Tony. My take is that the subject of your composition, whilst in focus, is poorly-lit. And these flowers (chamomile?) aren't here being depicted in all their potential glory - they have bright yellow centres and wonderful white petals.
So, overall, there isn't a point of interest and it simply looks dull. Technically, given the camera you are using, there's noticeable noise for the ISO you report. A large crop?
Best regards,
Anthony

I am not persuaded by HDR's somewhat Pixar look, but I realise many take a different view. This is a beautiful composition which, notwithstanding the HDR treatment, would shine and convince, probably.
And if I see another "pictorial" image of running water taken at low shutter-speed (especially over pebbles) I'm going to top myself...
Am I kidding?
No. Haha!

I love the people here too, very much.

As to the sepia treatment, I disagree Dan. Certainly, for the Romanesque revival church in the foreground (which I think is hideous as a piece of architecture) but then, any treatment of that chocolate cake building might be apt.
No, the Cock Tower is modern, clean, razorblade glass and steel of acuteness.

Anthony
