You captured the bird in a graceful position, and it's a well composed frame. What ISO were you shooting at? The reason I ask is I see an uncharacteristically large amount of noise in the sky for having been shot with a 20d. This image would really come out in NeatImage. I think everyone working in any sort of digital whether scanning film or shooting digital should try this piece of software (no, I don't work for them). www.neatimage.com - there is a free demo which is fully functional, but not for commercial use, and there are levels of paid versions. I liked it so much I bought the full commercial version so I could use it for my stock work too.

Nicely captured. The blue sky really makes the Tern look like going to fly right off the screen. As they say, "One good Tern deserves another." :-) Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Beautiful capture of the tern, Icerock! Looks great against the blue sky, and you've got tremendous clarity and detail.

Istvan Kallai Thanks for looking. This picture is taken in surroundings of Jokulheimar in a very very barren are . It is possible for experienced people to ford the Tungnaa River in robust 4wd vehicles, but none without experience or travelling alone should attempt that! Such an adventure takes people to the Tungnaarfjoll (Breidbakur) mountain ridge on the northern side of Lake Langisjor and then all the way to the Landmanna route.
About 7 km west and northwest of Jokulheimar is the mountain range Gjafjoll (Helgrindur ; 700-900 m).  There it is split by the enormous fissure Heljargja and a short distance to the west of the pass between them and the Blue Mountains stands the rock Dor, a petrified ogre heading for the glacier with its burden on its shoulders

This is beautiful and dramatic, and the tones are great. Are any of these mountains volcanic,? the rocks look like volcanic rock in texture. Alison

I like this picture, the textures of the mountains are very nice, and the clouds are great on the sky.
The tones almost good for me. It would be perfect, if the details in the bottom left corner were slightly visible. Anyway it is a great shot.

That sky is absolutely amazing, and the silhouette and about very interesting. I like how you can see what he is doing yet I yearn for a glimpse of his face. Alison

Wonderful shot of these two men, I love the serious discussion they seem to be having and the sepia does give it an old feel, wonderful about IR. Alison
