good try but it seems out of focus. Maybe you qere in a car? I would also try putting the horizon on the rules of third next time. Keep on trying. Excellent start.

Very good use of rule of thirds! I like how the sun adds a bit of movement. The tree silouotte just makes yuo winder what is perching on its branches.

Well done

I like the energetic feel of the shot, but I would tone down the saturation leves. Specially the background, since it takes away from the dragonfly.

This is a great photo describing a one sided fight. Man versus mother nature. All the elements of the photo balance each other. The patience of the pilot, the humanity of the co-pilot and the gratitude of the man beig rescued. Well done.

Thanks Sam! interesting site thanks for the URL. It is sad to see this nice animal being in the critical endangered species list -- 10 years to disappear.

This is a technique used by sports, portrait and wildlife photographers to isolate the subject. This is done by filling the frame with the subject using the lens max focal length and aperture. You can see this in newspapers and sports magazines. Check the Guina Fowl portrait -- The DOF is thin.

Thanks for your commments. This is also validates the extreme sharpness of this lens.

Really? I did crop the right of it to put him on the rules fo third second vertical column. I also took off the sun colorcast (yellow) with color adjustments. Other than that it is as it was captured. Keep in mind that it was taken with a macro lens -- check my other shot "tomas and natalia" and notice the amazing sharpeness of this lens. Why do you think this photo was digitally manipulated to achive this ?

I will try it in B/W, but I this I already did.

Thanks dave. It was not that far, maybe about 15-20 feet. This lens just came from canon's service center in irvine. I take it they did a great job!

Thanks for the comments.

Geoff, thanks for the comments. I did try several times to get the its head properply frame, but it just just came moveing. I also wanted to get the "hanging" feather in the frame. You can see that it is a bit clipped.

Thanks!

This is a very dynamic capture. You get the sense of movement and different emotions -- fear and joy -- from the children expressions.

Excellent 7+
