I really liked the blue light on the top of the Wrigley building tower. I had never seen that before and have to assume it is somewhat temporary.

Thank you for all your comments,
Jürgen

Thank you, Gregory. The early morning sunlight made a lot of difference. The tones were much different (and less attractive) in the afternoon the day before.

Thank you for your comments,

Thank you very much for you comment, Christine. Comments like yours are very rewarding. In fact, after reading your comment it suddenly is so much clearer to me why I liked the picture so much when I reviewed the shots of that day.

I just had to crop the shot a little to get a little piece of the neighboring building out the frame.

Thank you again,
Jürgen

Great capture and perfect exposure, Larry. They had a building like this one in Cleveland, too.

Great picture, Larry. Reminds me a lot of Charlemagne?s church from 800 in Aachen/Germany (where we lived before we moved to the US). There are many little walkways and parks around that church, too.

Beautiful capture, Larry, and great exposure. I seem to be getting better at the ?light pole removal? job myself now all the time.

Thank you, Romy. I like this picture very much myself, but I was extremely surprised when I finally saw it on the computer. The 210mm lens and the angle I took the photo at makes the relative distance of the various figures melt away.

Compare http://www.usefilm.com/image/752526.html for example to see how far apart the figures really are.

Thank you, Mike. Maybe I never really learned to do flash photography right, or I never had the right equipment. But I try to stay away from flash. I know the D70 can do some amazing things with fill flashes (maybe I should really sign up for these Nikon School classes they offer all the time), but I have the tendency to rather go up in speed (ISO) or tolerate slower shutters in order not to have to use the flash.

Thanks again for your comment,
Jürgen

Thank you, Mark. It was a little bit of a lucky strike that we came back from our ?Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? visit right when the sun was setting creating some of these warm light scenarios.

I just uploaded a few more figure close-ups all drenched in sunlight.

Are there any specific recommendations for exposure enhancements, Yigal ? I did a little of post processing (levels, mid-tones). What do you have in mind that could be enhanced?

Thank you for your comment,
Jürgen

Same here, Larry. We stayed on the 4th floor. When you did not see us wonder around looking down to the ground floor, you saw us looking at the beautiful steel/glass roof construction.

BTW. Many of your postings say ?Cincinnati, Ohio?. I assume that?s where you are based. Do you get to Cleveland a lot?

My apologies for mixing up your name and having the keyboard on ?German characters? while I was typing my response to you, Robert (in addition to giving me the ?Umlauts?, the German keyboard swaps out Y and Z ? the QWERTZ keyboard syndrome)

Anyway. It was a treat to experience the style and class from previous times, Patrick. Thank you for your comment.

Thanks for your continuing comments, Larry. Took me a couple of days walking by the thing to even realize it was there. I looked all over Cleveland for others, but they were all traditionally red with a silver cap.

Now this is a great sky, Nermeen. I have tried a few of these at dusk myself. Take a look at the moon series at http://www.usefilm.com/browse.php?portfolio_id=12879.

Welcome to Usefilm.

Great capture, Robert. Determination is exactly what comes to mind when when you see soccer players of all ages fight for the ball.

I caught my son one day with the new (used) 500mm during a high-school varsity game. Take a look at my "Determination" series at http://www.usefilm.com/browse.php?portfolio_id=13923.

Many wins for the grand daughter.

Very nice capture, Larry. I have seen several depots in Wisconsin, similar to this one. But I never had the camera handy ...

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your comment, Nermeen. Take a look at the sky yourself. Even major postprocessing did not make the sky of these images acceptable.

Very well done, Marvin. Was this taken recently (e.g., is the desert bloom going on now)?

Reminds me that I really miss Arizona. We lived there for 8 years.

You are absolutely correct, Mark. The perspective of the image needs to be corrected.

This is what I love about Usefilm. I had never done a perspective correction, but your example helped me understand the concept and learn to do it with my tool of choice (which is a fresh install of GIMP 2.2.3).

If you don?t mind, I?ll repost the resulting image (will give appropriate credit).

Thank you again for your eye-opening comment.

Thank you, Taran. Your are right. It was taken through the front minivan window. I made sure I only used the non-tint middle piece.

It's my wife's car. Pretty clean everywhere, including the front windshield.

Tobi is doing great. I just uploaded a Tobi image (due to popular demand :-)

Have fun in AZ.
