a nice portrait, only drawback is the slightly slanted horizon. a clockwise rotation is needed, but hard to fix when there's more than one element in the photo. straighten the horizon and the girl is crooked.... nice shot nonetheless. james

WOW!!! For such a nice photo that MUST have been on the front page, it has surprisingly few comments and views. Dont take that as a slight, it was obviously overlooked by our members in that respect but you did get a well deserved award. Beautiful sillhouette and lovely colours, altho I think the colour could be better if saturated a bit. I dont like the B&W version, aurora borealis is all about colour, nothing else.

I saw the auroras when I was young and living in northern Canada but at that time, couldnt appreciate the true beauty of such a wonderful natural phenomena.

You've got nice bright stars in that shot. how long was your exposure?

warmest regards ~ james

Thanks for the feedback Lukasz. The smaller light is the entrance to Tasiilaq fjord and the other is a fishing boat. I cloned out the boat in a print of this photograph.

I have never seen the northern light but I have found this color version more natural than the enhanced one;
well composed; the only things which disturb the view are these light on the right;
