Actually, on reflection (LOL) I want to see a lot more of that water - the eye hungers for it!

Brigitte, I like both, a lot - but I prefer this one because of the verticals. What floats my boat about your picture is the reflections, the greens, in this shimmering, pristine water. I'd like it more if you lost that rocky bit at upper right, and confined the frame to that part which appeals most. And for me, it's the water. We do not lose the pines because they are in the water.

I love places like this which are hard to spoil because of their inaccessibility.

I'm going to regret this, but here's my alternate take:

Many will disagree, but it's all part of the fun and privilege of being among the UF community.

Warmest regards Brigitte,
Ant

Thank you Marcus. I show restraint here :) I am a big fan of architecture.

Let's see more of your work here!

Agreed Tony. On the day we were there, the weather was pretty bad, but we did wander down to the river - and it was a lovely aspect. Of course, the Roman aqueduct was our purpose in visiting Segovia.

As Don says, the Disney thing is a fascinating comment regarding this fairytale castle.

Agreed Gary. I've got some B&W emulsion plug-ins which I haven't really tried. I hesitate lest, in doing so, I provoke a firestorm of abuse and recrimination. However, as I understand it, those plug-ins have been designed around smart models of silver halide emulsions. In FACT, I'm going to try some right now. I do realise this is sacrilegious, and of course, I understand that.

Rush to my aid when the going gets rough haha!

My best,

Anthony

And I overlooked yours too, R2D2 haha!

My thanks indeed. I see you haven't been posting either!

Best wishes,

Srna, I regret that I overlooked your kind comments. Of course, I do appreciate your sentiments. I see you have been busy elsewhere, apparently!

I agree: simply stunning Jon! I thought it might have been IR'd or something. I love your back-story too.

As to the slanted horizon, BAH! I agree with Gary that it adds a sense of dynamism. You obviously know all about the "Rules", and you are therefore entitled to break them. I do hope that "some judge" agrees that you chose to exercise your skill and knowledge deliberately, for reasons of drama. If not, the point will have been missed and stuff your "Honourable Mention, or whatever...

Best regards,

Anthony

Thank you Steve, very much. I very much appreciate comments like yours which add an extra dimension. My desaturation attempt here was rushed, and I certainly wasn't expecting any award for it! The crude smudging on the figure at left irritates me - a lot! And i am sure that many others take the whole idea greatly amiss. I was anticipating that in my "About".

Kind of you to take time to visit and comment.

I DO your # 17 in that series: http://www.usefilm.com/image/1531337.html

Armando, your comment made me laugh out loud - I love your humour - and exaggeration! In fact, I should very much love to see your work on Florence. I'm about to look at some i took of the Dome of the Duomo because it absolutely fascinates me, both for its art, and the sheer genius of its construction.

Kind regards and thank you for your words.

Exquisite Abhiruk, quite exquisite! Those straight diagonals are strong and beautifully complimented by the sagging ones - all of which are magically isolated to best effect by the dark background. The droplets are captured cleanly; they look like crystal orbs.

Warm regards on this work.

....just a footnote to others' comments, aside from the overall feel of this wonderful picture, I like the misty haziness created by those fine nets - an effect you caught well here. It took a moment for me to realise what it was! I very much like your other pictures of these fishermen too.

Warmest congratulations on your Award, and so early in your UF career :) May you go from strength-to-strength Ayati.

Striking image Gustavo! I find it most appealing. The tops of these (compressed fabrics?) many of them, look like tiny landscapes. I also like the radiating effect of perspective.

Fascinating!

I must say, when I first saw the thumbnail I knew I'd like this picture. Textures like this float my boat. The frame is apt too.

Warm congratulations on your Award Malules. I very much like the entire series, as a piece.

It's interesting though, Avi, but I do not think this is an abstract. In my eyes, it's very horribly real.

If I may say so, this image defines your work Keith, such is its quality - for your sympathy with place, execution, and poetry.

I have linked your work to my brother who, from your art, learn his better. He, like you, is primarily a photographer of landscapes of magical beauty, as you exemplified here.
