Stunning image Patrick, I'll have to look a little closer next time I do that by accident!

Looks like a torture device! The distortion caused by th 17mm makes it look even more menacing. Thanks

Nixon and Bluett. Makes me want to go street sign looking. I noticed you fix older cameras and shoot them. I almost always use some version of a Spotmatic, (ES, ESII, and K1000 being the most modern). Wish I were near Ann Arbor and could take some classes. Recent retirement has given me a chance to expand my hobby/passion.

Ha! We have an Easy Street here in Ann Arbor -- they raised the sign high enough that it's not easy to steal. Then there is the intersection of Nixon and Bluett....

Hi Patrick, very intriguing title. I cannot explain the positive form, except for a positive reaction from my side on this image... Its not only very well composed, the shallow DOF works beautifully in singling out bits and pieces of the ice encapsulated twigs. Very good tones, too.

Cheers,

Hugo

The image looks tilter. You may want to clone out those dust and particles..

I think the picture is great as it is, maybe a little bit too much red cast that you can manage selecting the Red channel in the Levels or Curves menu and playing a bit by yourself to see the output. It would be great in BW also, but loosing the color of the pipe would be a pity.
Nice shot!
All the best
Maurizio

cute dog. there is so much texture in the photo. it could be more interesting if the background colors contrasted with the subjects color, same goes with texture too.

cool shot. have you tried cropping out some of the space to the left of the sign? It may make a better composition to have the sign mor towards the left of the photograph.

How could I forget the sky with the way you captured it? Excellent movement in the water accompanied by well-spotted lighting make for quite the picture!
