I assume that you are diabetic?
Sad that you need to use these everyday.
My mother in law is type II and also has to use these and the tester every few hrs a day.
Great shot of an everyday item to you.
most other people might assume this is some sort of junkie type thing!

Hi Sandra,
This was actually shot with natural light coming through a window filtered by sheer churtains. Peppers are just surprisingly shiney I guess :-)

Very nice macro however did you use flash/artificial light? The reflection on the pepper distracts somewhat, otherwise I like the clever crop...

Thanks for the comment Gerhard. I understand what you are saying about using a bit more light in the foreground, and I had actually tried that. I found that just using strong lighting from above made the composition much stronger and actually pulled your eye into the flower more. I tend to focus on composition to the point of neglecting everything else. To me a dark photo with no detail in the shadows is much better than a boring perfectly lit image :-)
