Yllka, is the name of the subject, she's my cousine living in your neighbourhood somewhere- in Switzera!
I kept insisting in stealing a shot from her, a shot as expressive as she is- simple and striking. i kept failing it, as i never wanted to ask her do something for me, like posing or so-
luckily, it started to rain, and she put the hood over and looked at me like 'Visar, come on, stop chasing me...'- and, so, here we are. ;)
thanks again for the thorough analyses of the image Nick. Sorry to reply so late, i was chasing sandy beaches of the south and drinking coctails with little strawheads on the edge of the glass with my ray bans on- and celebrating the oblivion of summer! ;)

Portrait, and when we say "portrait" we mean it up to the most intriguing look that nails our eyes right away and as powerfull as it can get, and all that without any kind of additional (and superfluous) attitudes of playing the diva! *This* is a portrait and not the usual diva-faces that I see so often! Visar, hat off!
The blue eyes, captured in all their power and harmony with the blue outfit... they don't even try to look "nice". The face surrounds them in quite a natural and extremely strong expression, which again allows the eyes to penetrate my thoughts! Together with the extremely well captured hues and plasticity of the skin/hands this one invades me right away!
Spectacularity and the typical (and stupid) syndrom of a wannabe Marlene Dietrich is not necessary when somebody can capture a face this way! One of your most powerful images, Visar! For me a BIP!!!

Love this, especially the colours and the look on her face, so intense and concentrating on the photographer, with perhaps a hint of sadness thrown in. I'd like to see more.
