Good lighting on the broad faces of the buildings. If you have Photoshop or some imaging program, you can usually staighten the verticals to align with the frame. Architectural photographers used to have to use expensive perspective control lenses, but with digital that's not necessary.
The "Industry" photo was taken at about 5000 ft. elevation, so no polarizer was needed.
