About Driving into Calgary after a day of hiking we saw the moon rising over the city. It was huge! I pulled over to the side of the Trans-Canada highway and grabbed some shots before we dropped too low to get a decent shot. I think the skyline could have been better, but I was caught unprepared for such a massive moon. A few of the shots are blurred because of the passing vehicles pushing air at us. But, I think all in all this turned out okay. Comments are welcomed and looked forward to!

I love the colors and the composition. Too bad it is so out of focus.

Very nice composition indeed. The buildings look a bit blurred, probably camerashake due to wind?
Exposure is spot on IMO. Any longer and the moon would have become a bit white blob.

Russell, thanks for your thoughts... my problem with nightscapes is I never know how long I should keep the shutter open for... and I do bracket, but on this one I was at 5 secs, 8 seconds and 20 seconds. I think that 3 sec. would have probably done it! oh well, still learning and maybe next time I will get it right!

Thank you everyone for yor observations and comments!

Kim,

This shot really appeals to me, I like the way it is "balanced". The moon on the right and city scape on the left really works for me. If I had one nit to pick at I think maybe if you cut your time down just a smidgen, the moon and city lights would have more detail. Again I enjoy it, Keep after it!
