About On a very cold, windy and pollen filled evening I survived my allergies for a few long exposures. This one stood out. Let me know what you think. A few more of my photos can be viewed at http://www.artbeacon.com/jmg-galleries/

At first I would suspect composite but the foreground grass does indeed vindicate you, so ... you are free to go, collect $200.00, and shoot some more of these!

Great image and great title for earthly and heavenly atmospheric movements!

Thanks for sharing and Best of Regards!

Great photo! But the swirling stars hurt my eyes. It is a cool picture though.

Very nice! Was this done at Altamont pass or near Mojave? I'd love to get in there but never knew who to contact. if you could email me at wfrancis@anticlockwise.com and let me know how you got in there I'd love to know!

You chose a great angle and composition. It comes off as a very surreal photograph, more like a painting. I do wish the star trails could have been longer.

Curious...did you try any compositions where one of the wind mills would have been center aligned with the North Star? I think that would be an impressive and strong composition as well.

thanks for visiting my usefilm site. I think your comments were right on. Cropping is off.
This image intriges me. I think the crispness is marvelous and hte movement mysterious.
I love the angle.

Hi Jim, thanks for the comments on my 'Lunar Wind' which was a bit of an experiment. I can see what you mean about the star trails in your photo. I like these better. I think it might be good to try some real long exposures with a neutral density filter to make the star trails really long ;-)

I quite like the softness in thegrasses on your photo. My only point would be that it needs to be a little darker to really bring out the feel of a night shot. But thats a small point.

Cheers

Keith

I believe the exposure was roughly 9 minutes. It could have benefited from being longer. The slide is a little darker than this image.
