Hi Janice! An Aussie bird!! We call them Cockies. Hope you all had fun. Rob and I were wandering around the city on 4th July and couldnt work out why American Flags were up...then it dawned on us!! Oops. We are taking good care of him, and he's really having a fantastic time...and getting some sensational shots! :)

Thanks for commenting Don. Actually, this July 4th wasn't too hot - only got to about 112 or so. :-D Jan

That looks great Margaret. Really focuses on the main subjects and removes the distractions in the background. What did you do - magnetic lasso around the bird and the young man, inverse, and then change the background layer??? Jan

Thanks for the comment and the info Gerhardt. Also, Ellen Smith thought it looked like a baby. Both the bird and the young man made me smile too. The children all decorate their mode of transportation in red/white/blue, flags, shiny stars and streamers, etc. (including wearing in theme clothing)and have a great time parading around the block 2-3 times. I think you will find it is a sulfer crested cockatoo, they are everywheres here and a couple dozen have taken up residence at my childrens school, they are noisy indeed. I like the candor of the moment you have captured. Details and light are nicely presnented. I do like the expression andthat is what leaves me smiling from ear to ear. Cheers, Gerhardt
