I didn't think you would be able to top your last Deer Lake shot, but you totally did! I, with no degree of exagerration, think this shot is fantastic. I really think you nailed this tricky exposure . . . the trees and skyline are in silhouette, as they should be, and there's juuust enough light to see the entire lake and lillypads therein. The reflection in the foreground is wonderful, and I love how it gives the water and lillypads an almost golden metallic shine. Pretty! I can sort of see where Stefan is coming from in terms of the purple sky, but I think he's referring mostly to colour choice as opposed to saturation. Myself, I think the purple looks fine, because it's still this side of pink, which is a very common sunset colour.
You know, I thought you were crazy when you got in that water, but it was honestly worth it! (Although you'll never get me in there!)

Nice shot, and I applaud your willingness to get dirty. Wonderful color and light in the sky, and I like the bright area reflected in the water. Good idea to use a graduated ND filter, and I think even more is needed. I'd like to be able to see the water lilies better.

This is a really beautiful mixture of city and nature, what a wonderful grouping of lilly pads against the rich gold color of the sunset. Great perspective, a wonderful feel of the distance. Beautifully taken Kim. Alison

This one is absolutely wonderful, Kim - well worth venturing into the muck for! :) The balance between the sky and the lily pad covered water is excellent - I especially like the gold color reflected off the water and pads. The thin, bright line separates land and water perfectly! It took me a moment to realize that the horizon line is buildings (hence the title - duh! :)

Beautiful Kim. Don't worry about the 'too vivid' colour, it gives it thh necessary visual impact!
The underexposure, and wide perspective on the lily pads, is very effective. Also, for me, the disproportionate ratio between sky and foreground slhouettes, work well .
The hint of city scape, is a fine finishing touch. I love it!

I don't know Kim...the sunset tonight looked a lot like this without any filters, so I think it is definitely believable! Nice work...I really like it!

I think it works well, but I don't think I have seen a purple sky like that. Maybe it is just me who needs to visit Canada and take a better look... It does not look unreal as in "that could never happen" and I think you are not stretching reality too far with your choice of film and filters in that sense. But you are right that it is not for everyone, but if you dig spectacular sunsets, I think this image should fit right in.

Is it the too vivid colour that looks unreal? Let me know so I can tune and repost to try to figure out what works better... I like the effect of the filter, but it's not for everyone, and maybe I can find a middle ground of still nice, but more beliveable.

Tricky to do with what could turn into an undifferentiated mass of leaves, but the reflection of the sky really helps you out here. The sky is unreal but I can live with that, it looks good! Going into the water helps immersing the viewer in the scene (sorry Dirck - you're going to have to find another pun :-) - so in my humble opinion it was well worth getting soaked for!
