About
Scan of a 12 year old Black and White negative (6x4.5), and colored in Photoshop Elements using very simple painting tools. I used to do this with Marshall's Oil Paints. Natural window light.
I just got a film scanner and I'm going back over some of my old favorites. I have 18 years worth of B&W negs.
I'm really stunned to see the effect it has finally produced. A very very good work indeed. Look forward to see many more pictures like this lovely blue-eyed blonde.
Rachel - It took about an hour from scan to posting. I'm still learning about Photoshop, and it was trial and error at first. I've done about 10 prints in the last few days since I got my scanner. I'm using basically the same techniques that I used to do with cotton balls and oil paints - lots of very thin layers of different colors built up over a warm sepia toned base. I want to get a graphics tablet. That would be a lot easier than the mouse.
Ooo, I remember seeing this one as a black and white... I think I even have it as a favorite, but either way the coloring you did to this is great! How long did that take you, looks like some hard, precise work went into this (but then again maybe you are used to it so it's easy for you now!) I love this! I think it's awesome! :) ~Rachel~
