You couldn't pick a better project! Congrats on your EC for this. Gorgeous capture of still life. Just beautiful. The color and light are perfection. A lot of mystery in the shot.
Thanks for your comment elsewhere.

Ken: Very lovely and well lit still lifes. I sort of miss my 4x5 and studio lights when I see these. I know I could do them with the DSLR but we haven't even enough room for a setup anymore. Again, lovely and evocative still lifes.

Hi Jeannie - sorry for my delayed reply .....

A single adjustable beam, mini-spotlight was used for this and many of my shots. Having objects with similar light reflectance (color) helps I've learned . Glad you stopped by ...... (-;

This is absolutely beautiful and perfect. The way you've managed to get these results in the type of lighting is phenomenal to me....how did you do it? Mine never seem to turn out when i try to capture the same effect of lighting.

Beau traitement de la lumière et de la monochromie; oeuvre chaude et insolite, rappelant les curiosités de certains maîtres du maniérisme. Plus que louable!

Perfect creative work Ken. You must have thought about this for longer time. Great details, the honey and the acid, the time tiking away, play chess with yourself ore an other person and the keys to free one self eighter way, good ore bad. Once again perfect. Congratulations....Best regards Harry

this is a quality photo, so much thought and time i am sure. i love the swinging metronome, the hint of woman, the placement of the the eggs in relation to her.. (studio photo classes would have a field day with this one!) i am sure everyone can find a personal angle. great job!

Thank you all for taking the time ...

The shadow represents all of us who have ever passed judgement on another ...... The coconut shell is the Pandora's box of submitting your work for critique - the shadow rising like the Phoenix from it ...... The game board, the Acid Queen and people who relentlessly bang their own drum ........ (-; ........ more later.

The shadow being the artist behind the scenes trying to communicate his or her inner artistic expression. The shdaow baring his or her sole for an acid/honey war! But I would like to think that we dance to our beat...so...keep on dancing to your own drum beat!

Very cool use of shadows. I like it alot. I enjoy many still lifes but my create side will not let me create one. Maybe one day. Nice work. I like the lighting and idea behind this image. Good work.

Very good - please continue ........... Whom is the shadow ? And the open coconut shell might be like opening ..... ?

Haleh B   {K:3741} 2/2/2004
The game of criticism is just like honey and acid. No one wants to be told they are wrong (the acid part) and of course everyone wants to be praised (the honey part)! If we could only manage not to walk on the egg shells and tell it as it is...would they still love us? I tried to cover most of it...the rest is yet to come!

One of them I love. Can be watced and understood in many ways. I think the hips and bottom of the shadow looks very female. A coincidence?
