The arrows are to help focus the direction with the cut notch on the far end. Like sighting a large rifle. The numbers across the breech represent the date. The left hand side numbers are (probably) the size/bore of the cannon ball used. 6 pounder, maybe. All I can add here. And I will not say it is all accurate. Just pretty good info.
