hey thanks! it looks like a painting because a) i have a crappy scanner, and b) the bokeh of the picture, and photoshop's sharpening didn't get along as well as I had planned.

I must say, your skin looks silky soft in that photo, Ben! The focus and colors make the pic look like a painting.

yeah, thats my finger. The picture was hard to take- I had the maglite propped up on a brick, the butterfly was on my left hand, and the camera was in my right. I was focusing by moving the butterfly back and forward, and adjusting the light by scooting around my front porch o0n my butt. It was hard, and For the 2 decent shots I got, I have 20 or so blurry and crappy ones... Then I realized that my camera was set 1 stop down.... they turned out ok though.
