Beautiful image Dave, lovely colors and good dof.The ripples add a sense of movement and the color a nice contrast to the bird. The only thing missing is the catchlights but I know how difficult that is to get,no fault of yours. Will be browsing your portfolio later, just want to say a quick thank you for your comment. Take care

I love this photo. The colors and composition are perfect. Honestly, my eye must not be as trained as Edwards, because I never would have noticed the streaks on your photograph, and as such I can't say that they detract from the photo at all.
Well done! J

A stunning shot Dave! I love the ripples and think you have the composition spot-on (diagonal issues and all)! An apt title for this Canadian beauty and the colors and reflections are visual eye candy!! Very nicely done!

The great thing about this kind of feedback is that others will notice things that you didn't see at all. You're right, there are two hair-like streaks in the foreground. The middle one is definitely an artefact that I created accidentally in photoshop. Sometimes the location of the mouse cursor is not clear, and I must have clicked when it was moving and made a mark. The second more obvious streak is a reflection in the water, seen on the original as well.
Interesting, I haven't seen those kind of hair-like artefacts since I switched to digital imaging.
Thanks for the feedback, Edward.

Great shot Dave.
Wonderful colours and a great reflection and ripple effect, as well as a very fitting title.
The only marginal negative is the odd diagonal line across the bottom ripples, a hair on your scanner perhaps? All the best, Ed
