Goo close cropped portrait, looks nice as the light angle support the details here, still could be a bit more sharpbut as a snapshot is good one.

Yes . . . I have a suggestion - Nikon D50 . . . VERY user friendly and as your skills grow you can leave the automated functions and begin experimenting. As you learn and grow . . . you'l leave Auto forever eventually! Very nice and affordable.
