Yes, you are right Jacques, the reason I couldn't get the feet is because I was sitting in some high grass and couldn't move or the Heron would fly away. I was using my 300 F4L IS with a 1.4 Teleconverter. The problem with a prime lens is that you can't zoom back (or in). Bon Jour mon Ami.

Hi Cathy, yes it is waterfall, not a big one, maybe 5feet high but it is quite wide, say 300-400feet. The Heron likes to park himself just beneath it and watch as fish come over the falls and probably some of them get stunned and then he grabs them. I would have preferred a bit more separation between the Heron and the falls but that is not possible. Like you say, tough to even get this shot.

Is that a waterfall in the background,it is a very effective backdrop. They a pretty clever to be able to catch fish and you are pretty clever to be able to catch them catching fish! CC
