Actually, the final image delivered is in sepia, with minor distortion and drop-off at the edges (simulating the lens quality of the period). I appreciate your comments.

Thanks for the comments. The man is a friend of mine here in Texas. Civil War reenacting is a huge hobby in the States.

Nice portrait CL. We have re-enactors here in California and (probably) all throughout the country. This chap seems to have a great outfit put together. A natural looking pose and good DOF. The topical nature of the subject and the new world of photography during the Civil War makes me wonder, though . . . have you tried to age and / or add Sepia toning to make the presentation seem more historical? Might be a fun project! . . . And I bet the Lieutenant would likely love it! :)

Very great portrait of the officer and with very great details and colors.
Long time back some English people here shown us a film called solider blue, officers in the film looks like this man, is this the same?
