About More on the rubbish dump, where so many people spend their days finding a way to keep themselves alive.
This man was competing with the "gulls" and kept trying to chase them away... all in vain...

Hi Chris,
Great picture. Strong, sad, realistic. I like it!
The BW is better in my oppinon, because more concentreted.
Your previous picture "Survivor..." is good too.
Congratulation!

A touching scene Chris.
You can almost hear a cry of anguish from the man in competition with the gulls.
A very power piece of photojournalism.

Thanx for commenting Gavino. I preferred the BW too, but thought that there was some merit in the colour...

Ian - thank you for your meaningful comments.I guess this was the sort of reaction that I was hoping for.I had the privelage of spending the entire day with this community, and to call it humbling, would be a severe understatement....
I have a whole series to post here, and hopefully, it will touch some more people. What they do with it, is of course an entirely personal matter!

Beautiful shot. B&W version is far way better, IMO.

Great B/W Enviromental shot, well composed and with alot of feeling. We don't know how lucky we are, not to have to go through this every day. If it wasn't for people like you Chris, and for photos like this, alot of us would not have the foggiest about what is happening in other peoples lives. Thank god for UF, for letting us all show such diversity and depth from within the world we live in today. Thank you Chris for the insight.

Hi there Chris. The colour version sure shows that the man and gulls are at a dump, but I like the B+W better. So very striking with the tones and contrast, seems more moody to me, quite sad and depressing, but reality all the same. A very strong, confronting image, great work,
cheers, Bek
