Hi Albert!
I'm so pleased you like this image and thank you for telling me the fascinating story of when ploughing in Holland was done just so.
I am Hungarian (living in Australia), and there are still small farming communities that use "beasts of burden" in my motherland.
Also in Australia, some folks still use draught horses in particular for certain jobs.

Hello Aniko,
As raised in the country of Holland this was a familiar view for me about 35 years ago.
I like the way you expressed it, the atmosphere meets the reality of the past and shows the more harmonic nice view of this hard work. Men and animal are one in this image to achieve the best.
Reality was sometimes different. Animals were not taken care of very well, not to say neglected by nowadays knowledge.
The way you used technical possibilities here is excellent and fits well to how this should be.
Composition, the choice of colouring, IF, DOF and POV, it all fits well together.
So a great job, Aniko, and compliments for the result you show us. This image would fit well in a book of historical photograpy. Only made today.
Beautiful view, that shows understanding of the subject and it's environment in the past and now.
This image appeals and recalls personal memories of me connected to what I experienced. That's what an image should achieve. So, for this I thank you !
Probably, I reward different from my point of view, but I really don't understand the rating for this picture. For me 7+++.

I am pleased you like this image. Yes, in Hunary too, they still use "beasts of burdeen" in certain regions.
This image has not been photoshopped other than the sepia tint by the way.
I never learned anything, Alex, other than through experimentation. That includes photoshop, so I am sorry I cannot help you out there. I am still experimenting with it and hope to never cease to do so! I own photoshop 7, which is a bit old by today's standards, but there are many functions on it I still haven't used and am probably still unaware of! Often I stumble onto something in PS by chance... it is exciting!!! :)

These ploughing demonstration gets you in the mood of a late XVIII - early XIX century. I love it. In Romania there are still used bulls for this kind of job.
A question: Do you have any courses, study materials, tutorials for photoshop? I would really like to learn how to use it properly.

Yes, there is another image of the ploughing demonstration but that one is in "straight" B&W, not sepia toned infrared.

I enjoy infrared and all kinds of different film experimentation. One day I will get myself one of those fandangled digital cameras, but I am reluctant to do so. Film and old cameras are good!! :)

Very effective, Aniko! I like the "rustic" feel of this shot, it's almost as if this photo were taken at the turn of last century. But with a lot less noise. ;)
