Love the clarity and simplicity of this composition. Really gives the feeling of this desolate area....No 18-200mm yet?....been watching for it to surface here too but no luck as of yet....no lens for xmas i guess...lol

A wonderful conversion into these excellent monochromatic tones my dear Kes. Now this is real isolation where you could tank up the music way high without disturbing the neighbours I loved Andre's comment and agree that it is so reminiscent of the spaghetti Westerns, Clint and friends. An excellent landscape study my dear friend. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray:)

Well at least they don't have a problem of annoying neighbors... i like the angle and the way it split the image in 3 'layers' to enhance the solitude feel...well done, so moody! regards:) marija

Amazing isn't it! You could take that guy right out of "Duel" and clone him right in there. Just like he was meant to be :) Andre

Thanks Andre, I shot this hand-held and had to sharpen it quite a bit...hopefully not too much.
Ok, a gunslinger...I'll look around...maybe in a previous post of mine - "duel"?
Cheers, Kes

Hi Don, yes it is to the east of us a bit. You can't tell from this shot, but it's in an alpine valley...the building is at about 8200' elevation. kes

A beautiful job on this B&W image Kes! The detail is as crisp and clear as anything I've seen here on Usefilm. I can see why you wouldn't want to go any sharper. I'll bet there will be a few more of this place posted. The lines and balance with the slightly offset house all work very well.
I could imagine this image with Shane or Clint Eastwood's man with no name coming into the image from the left hand side. You know... one of those stereotypical Western movie posters. Half of a gunslinger's torso from just above the knee up to the his hat. He would be looking toward the house, so his face would be unseen. A colt 45 hanging loosly at his right hip.
Now you just have to go out and find a gunslinger. Andre
