With me it is specifics. What works light-wise for some generally works for all. Look at my Macro bugs. Those are mostly are at night, no ring-lite os dedicated flash.I use my Canon 580 EX at 5in-.I set the AF with a small Maglite flashlight, and use Manual on the camera at ISO 100(like ASA 100)and between 1/100sec-1/125 sec atf/11-f/16. It works everytime. The Hummingbirds 1/250sec at f/8-f/16.See you.-Rich

Rich,
I apologize about that. I don't use a digital camera that keeps track of all that. I shoot (EBX) film. Normally for regular landscape images I always use f/22 I can always say that for sure. With the slot canyons it is different. I aimed to use about f/11 for most shots so I can get the right exposure. I use a special exposure card that photographer Mark Rasmussen developed for slot canyons. It worked wonderfully. If you are interested in this exposure table google Lightchase tours and his name.
Aside from that when I'm in the field shooting I am more worried about capturing the photo rather than keeping track of all my specific exposures.

Hi Nicole,
This is just beautiful, You really caught some wonderful light down there. Is this the upper or the lower canyon? We spent about 4 hours in the lower canyon back in April. If you want you can see those shots near the bottom of this page.
