Riham -- Thanks for your kind words. I looked over your portfolio and you have many wonderful pictures. I did not leave a comment on "Cheerful" but that one brightened my day and left a smile on my face. Many blessings to you, Jan

Srna -- Thanks for taking a look and commenting. She was very cute but so well hidden by the steps that the camouflage idea struck me as being the right way to show her off. --Best to you, Jan

Doyle-- thanks so much for the critique. I am so glad that you absolutely loved this photo of the poor, pathetic kitten. Also appreciate the fact that you admire the filter effect so much. I am certain you will nominate this one for an award! (teehee teehee) :) --Best to you, Jan

Thanks, Marylce... for viewing and your kind comments. My wife and I have raised so many feral cats that I am surprised the neighbors have not filed a restraining order. Our current indoor cat, Roland (AKA Doctor Evil), is a shelter cat - unfortunately Roland does not like other cats. So our feral rescues have to be "placed". --Best to you, Jan

Like the effect. I too have a "feral" cat, though I doubt she remembers bringing her home over 11 years ago. She and two sisters were born to a feral cat, but there mom was hit by a car. I brought two home at about the age of 8 weeks. One is no longer with us, but Cheyenne is still here and normally over my shoulder if she can get away with it. Love your animal shots, you always seem to catch their personality.

Onie-- Thanks for viewing and for your comments. You have the same impression that I have: these little creatures instinctively know how to "play us" to get food and shelter. The first stray we took care of was years ago on a freezing winter night and we have been suckers ever since. All part of their survival genes. --Best to you, Jan

~~GRIN~~ Jan... This clever fun...
We had one cutie turn up on the doorstep on a freezing, rainy winters night... So towelled it off, got a box with a blanket for the porch... Made it warm milk and mash... Lo and behold went to check and there were five squirming bodies, all enjoying themselves around the bowl...
LOL... They must have picked straws to see who could get the best sympathy... Clever survivors all...:)

Christine-- Thanks for commenting on this little guy. My wife and I have had good luck with a number of feral kittens over the past several years-- if we get to them early enough. If we find them with Mom on or around or porch we begin handling them and making friends with the mother. With a little TLC we have been able to place some of them with families as pets. But you are so right-- has to be done early on. This one was discovered too late and eventually grew a bit and joined a nearby feral community. --Best to you, Jan

very nice effect, Jan. I like the patterns created by your conversion.. so sad that these little guys stay so wild. it's difficult to socialize or tame them if they get older than seven or eight weeks old.

An original interpretation - I think this would work even better without the slanting boundary at the top but rather with a consistent background.
