Srna -- Thanks so much for your comments. Now that the colder weather has arrived my neighbor no longer puts his beer in the dryer to avoid freezing. But the dryer is still there!!!!! --Best to you, Jan

Thanks, Del. I share that feeling about everyday objects. All kinds of great stuff around us, right under our noses. --Best to you, Jan

I love shots of everyday things like this. I think the low light actually adds to the photo. Del.

Thilo -- Thanks for the comments. To make this photo even worse, it was taken through a window at the highest focal length the lens offered in low light levels. Therefore, the photo does not do proper justice to the beauty of the broken dryer and the Corona beer carton. :) :) --Best to you, Jan

Hi Jan,
I like the subject here. The image itself suffers a bit from the high ISO. nice framing as well.
best wishes, Thilo

Onie - thanks so much for looking at this one. It is funny and I noticed yesterday that the neighbor was stocking his dryer with a few new six packs of Corona. If he would pick a different brand I would go over and have some myself. Consider doing a photo of yours and making it into an abstract! --Jan

LOL Jan... I'm laughing because our clothes dryer is hung outside our back door... We have a very secure yard and no-one else can see the dryer ~~GRIN~~...
It bacame the *delivery station* ( husband was ill, in hospital 13 months) for friends dropping off a meal for me when I got home, the mail brought in from mail box, notes, flowers... sometimes even the washing LOL... No one ever left a beer tho' ~~GRIN~~...
Thanks for the laugh... :)
Onie...

Nessa- I seriously doubt it is a still :) Way too many Corona bottles about; I think that is the poison of preference. My neighbor is not allowed to smoke in the house and he takes many trips out to the side porch to smoke. I believe the dryer provides a convenient place to store cool beer while having a smoke. Next thing will be a television and an easy chair! --Best regards, Jan

Thanks for your comment, Pablo. Stealing beer is like stealing cattle; one could be shot for doing such a thing! :) --Best regards, Jan

Thanks and best wishes for peace and happiness in 2007 to you and Marlyce. I am not sure I could adopt the "Chastain" approach to washer/dryer mating; not my style. More likely I would just sneak over at night and drink the Corona. I personally am a Jack Daniels kind of guy but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for the greater good. --Best to you, Jan

Heheheheee . . . LOL! He has issues Jan! Clearly. Corona??? Come ON now! Perhaps you should explain that just because the beer is gone that doesn't mean the laundry is done! Oh . . . Could you get an old washer to put on your side? Then . . . every couple of days move it a step closer to his . . . you could write the words "I LUuvs Ewe!" on the side of yours! They could interlace electrical cords and you could every now and then have a broken lamp with a "Come Back!" sign slowly chase down your washer too. Welcome to my twisted world my friend! :)
Best Wishes for a Happy New Year!! Doyle I <~~~~~

Thanks, Michele -- I believe the dryer does double duty; storage both on top and inside. Go figure. --Best to you, Jan

Richard-- thanks so much for your comments. Actually, the new neighbors do not come from your neck of the woods and do not speak much English. Nice folks but need to police up the yard a bit. Appreciate the kind words about the portfolio (which is all in fun) and the couple of tours for the Sam (not in fun). Given my background in the military I can honestly say that 2007 is a year I wish for Peace more than anything. Wishing you a Happy & healthy New Year. --Jan

That guy must have moved up there from my (red) neck of the woods. Great shot. Thanks for the comments to my photo, but mostly thanks for your service to our country. I enjoyed your portfolio. Good stuff there! Happy New Year!
