Suave luz que realza texturas y alarga las sombras. Un precioso paisaje invernal! Felicitaciones!

Hi Joe, Funny thing is i looked at this image again on another computer and that monitor read much warmer....so again i realize that what i see on my laptop may not be what the creator sees on there computer. I understand what you are saying about conveying the feel of the wicked cold via imagery and i would say that this was achieved. I also like the warmer vision too. I guess in many ways i am tired of seeing so much wintery blue photos of my own and was relaying my prejudice to you ....lol..

Hi Jordin,
After we talked, your mother pointed out that you can see the beaver dam in the image. That still may not be enough to readily identify it a as a beaver pond. Maybe a better title would have been frozen wetland. Thanks very much for your comments.
Have a great day, Dad

Hi Ina, It is a wetland that I believe was created by beavers. You can see part of the dam. It's the ridge about mid-point on the image. You're right about beavers, recently on TV I've even heard them referred to as majestic . lol Thanks very much for your comments.

Hi Tim, Sorry to take so long to respond. Is this more to your liking? I adjusted white balance of the RAW image to give it a warmer look. Personally, I think this is a matter of taste. As I recall, the my original version is closer to the colour of the actual light when I took the shot and as well relays the feeling of the cold, frozen landscape better. On the other hand I can see the appeal of warmer looking image which with a sepia tone. I appreciate your detailed feedback and I'm always interesting in people's opinions. Thanks very much.
All the best, Joe

Hi Dad,
Its a very nice picture, fits well in the peace & tranquility project. But there is something about it that doesn't sit well with me. I think it might be that I don't find there to be enough of a point of interest. I feel like my eye is searching for the beaver lodge or something to indicate beaver life like tree stumps. I don't know not really a criticism because it is a very nice picture.

Nice winter mood with cold sun and shade, and rusty dry grass! Is that an actual beaver pond? They can do quite a bit of damage around the forest, although I think they're cute animals and very good architects :)))

This is a good composition Joe. But i find it to blue and it takes away from the overall feeling a bit for me. I am not sure about Canon cameras but in the menu of a Nikon under "white balance" you can set it to shoot warmer or cooler. So in the winter i set mine to MAX warmth and it allows the snow in the sun to be just a bit on the yellower side and then giving the shadows in the snow the cooler cyan colors. The contrast between the warm and cool colors in the image will then be more exciting.
