A little dark, but magestic. Metering off of snow is so difficult - I just ran into that lovely problem on some glaciers in Canada.

I envy your location. The highest peak around here is a little over 6000 feet. You must never get tired of seeing your surroundings. Wonderful image, I see you were still able to capture some shadow detail in the tree on the right without blowing out anything on the mountain... very nice ,well done

This is really good Gary. The cold, steel colours of the mountain, snow and cloud are well set off by the tree which puts them into perspective. Exposure and composition are excellent, and the detail is amazing. Paul.

Hi Nick... on this shot I wanted the main focus to be on the mountain. If I included the whole tree, the mountains would have been much less significant as the tree was so close to me compared to the mountain. Thanks for the comment. Cheers, Gary

Great sharpness and DoF here, Gary, but shouldn't the whole tree be visible? Anyway, that shine of the mountains in front of the threatening clouds is almost not of this world! Like a warning that something very powerful is going to happen!
