About I'm usually averse to putting up similar images to ones previously uploaded but I can't help feeling that maybe this one is stronger and maybe I should have thought harder about the shot I initially selected. It is all down to one thing, the contrasting presence of the little sapphire blue lochan at the foot of the An Teallach Ridge which fortuitously echos the shape of the illuminated peak behind. Any way no more from here after this one. I am interested to know our preference as that is what really makes these forums so useful. Hope you enjoy it.

I think you may be right about the grad I suspect with a little work I could negate its effect.

This is stunning, just beautiful natural colors. I prefer the lake view as it adds another beautiful color to the scene.

Well, I love them both, Ian. The colors are more intense here and the loch is lovely, but I also like the full right-hand peak showing in the first shot.:)

Hi Ian, may I start by saying your work is of an outstanding quality (Pentax 67!! quality!) and your compositions thoughtfull and sure to evoke emotions of awe in all nature lovers! I love the rich saturated colour and wonderful natural textures that jumps to the fore - makes me wish to pack my bags and see the place for myself!

Regarding these two image I prefer the latter one, mainly due to the more balanced composition with the rich foreground where the eye can dwell for a while, leading you to the darker top right and through along the horison to highlighted peak then down to the lake and back up again to the foreground. All in all a well balanced composition - a feast for the eye! (7+) The first upload imo is not so well balanced - a nice foreground left bottom leading the eye nicely to the big peak top right and then a bit of dead space (darker area) leaving the eye in mid-air. Dont understand me wrong - this is also a great image (I am nitpicking now - on your request!) but in comparison to the latter upload, I think the weaker composition. Thanks for sharing and keep uploading these inspiring landscapes! Kind regards.
Joggie
