I love the colors of the photograph and how the yellow flower pops out. The DOF is also great.

I think you were definitely on the right track with this one. Just a few things that I might have tried on the next frame. A little more depth of field so that the next row of flowers was just a little more in focus. I have a feeling that the composition would have worked slightly better if the oddball flower were not in the first row of flowers in the picture. These things may not have created a better photo, but it would have been interesting to compare.

As a side note.. was the original slide this saturated?

Thanks for your comments. I WOULD like to go back but the show's over for this year. Bob, I really do need to make better use of my wide angle lens. I tell myself that every time I go out, but usually end up using my 75-240 zoom exclusively.

Split personality, perhaps. I saw a shot at my camera club recently where the photographer shot some tulips, but was laying on the ground. He used a wide angle, and it was very effective - you might want to try it sometime if these flowers are still around. By the way, I disgree with one of the other posters - I think your subject is the yellow/red tulip, and its right up front - which I think is the right place for it. Isn't it great that we all have slightly different opinions?

Nice frame and soothing light. I'd put on a polarizer the next time to cut the glare on the edges of the wet tulips. As a matter of fact, I committed the same mistake, too.

Beautiful colors, and I like the yellow tulip in the middle of the red sea of tulips... wish for more dof, and may be even positioning the yellow one in a stronger compositional place in the photo... great work though Bobbie
