Aww memories. I loved reflector duty when I was little! This photo is gorgeous, as well, but something about her look.. It looks a little too vacant for me. She's got wonderful facial features, I wanna see more expression! Maybe a playful little smirk or something.

Excellent job with the lighting-- it has resulted in a sculpting effect to enhance the detail. Love the expression. -Best regards, Jan

I'd prefer a couple of soft boxes and a battery pack for my Alien Bees, but a reflector can 'get 'er done' with much less help.
I would strongly recommend you get a tripod and an arm to hold your reflector.

and "majestic" she is... pheww. how gorgeous.
It looked like her face was blown out in the thumbnail and I thought, nah, not Paul. When I opened it up, I liked what I saw as far as the light on her face. I especially liked the light shadowing on her facial features.
I need to get me a big old reflector, huh?
Best to you, Dave

Paul, this is a really nice shot. She's got fantastic features that, I'm sure, make it easy to shoot her. Thanks to Robert, also, for the suggestion as I will take that away for my own use in a later shoot. Sid

In Photoshop with the clone tool hardness at 0, flow at 100% and opacity at 20% I just grabbed randomly from above and below the awning, using short strokes I gradually built up density intil I was satisfied.

No flash, Mohamed, just a silver 4-foot reflector off below camera left. I'm happy you like it; it was one of the best shots of the morning.

Wow, great suggestions, Robert. Thanks! How did you darken the awning? It still looks quite nice, but isn't pulling the eye away from Taylor (as it should be).

What a beautiful and innocent girl, great find Paul - just a couple of thoughts on the photo: a gold reflector helps warm the color on an overcast day, a longer lens and lower ISO woud give you a shorter depth of field throwing the back ground out of focus to eliminate distractions. If you retouch your photos I would suggest taking out the dark lines coming off the bridge of her nose and darkening the distracting awning in the background. I attached an example. Nice work as usual Paul Cheers!

Thanks, Tom. Her little sister was standing just out of frame with a silver reflector, as it was pretty cloudy.
