About This is not a recent image, but might be of interest and sort of goes with the many views of the same spot at the top of my road which has those ever-changing views. Perhaps I should create a seperate "Top of my Road" portfolio,as I have literally hundreds of images, and there are no two the same! :)

The story:
I had the great fortune on my way home from shooting for a "bed and breakfast" brochure (and for the website of same).
It was nearing sunset and there was a lovely warm glow as I drove the winding road up to near the top of the mountain where I live.
Lo and behold! A full Winter Solstice Moon rising and reflecting in the dam awaited me at the "perfect moment"!
And how fortunate that I had my camera gear with me and some film still in one of my cameras. Only about 10 frames left! I shot them all off on this scene. Perhaps this is not the best of the lot. But it is the one I could locate easily, since I cannot go through all my prints/slides at the moment. Many are filed in places that require heavy lifting to access them. No can do...

The scanned print is not perfect, but I am hoping it will come out looking reasonable. In photoshop, I had to remove some dust specs etc from the image which was printed on slightly textured photo paper. I prefer to scan from gloss. So please do not mistake anything that might look like grain or noise...neither apply. It is the texture of the paper.

I miss you all, my Dear Friends! As yet, I am still unable to hold a camera, but my arm is slowly healing. Thank you all for your kind and Loving support.

Constructive comments are welcomed!
My Loving best to you!
Aniko :)

Summer is again upon us, but I have lived in this 3rd most bushfire prone area in the world all my Life! All is well... Seems also the drought of some 15+ years has finally broken. Will be interesting to see what happens when the heat strikes. It was terribly hot and dry last summer!
Thank you for your kind compliment on the image.
Best wishes always,
Aniko :)

Hi Aniko, This is a wonerful image and you captured it well. I am concerned about your well-being especially after those horendous fires. Are you well and safe? I didn't realize that you lived on a mountain surrounded by forests. I hope the fire did not affect you seriosly. Please drop me a line and catch me up. Sincerly. BILL NAGY

Many thanks Dear Paul, my Friend!

I will survive!!! :)

Thank you also for saying this shot is skillfully captured. It was not difficult. It was "there". All I had to do was aim and shoot... lol...
Sad about the not so great rendition here. :(

My Loving Best to you with Hugs~

Hi Jo!

Thanks for your kind comments over this not so brilliant rendition of that which is actually a perfectly sharp image. Yes, I live in a very beautiful place, Jo... and am at my happiest when the tourists are not around... lol! I have lived here (a few different houses, but all atop this mountain) for most of my Life. Why would I ever want to leave? (Aside from the tourists... hehehe...)
It is indeed a blessing when we come across these "once in a lifetime" moments and have the fortune to capture them :)
And thank you. I like to give detailed "stories". I'm a chatter box.. hehehe... Happy to know that some people appreciate my stories.

Thank you Dear Jo... and I am working hard on getting better soon.
I realise, I have not had the greatest time regarding my health for around 2 years now! Whoa!
What is the Universe trying to tell me?
Best I shut up for a chane, and listen methinks.

Loving Hugs~
Aniko :) x

Wow you live in a very beautiful place my dear Aniko!! Beautiful shot - and obviously even moreso in the original by the sounds of it. Stunning capture nonetheless. Love the reflection - as you say the perfect moment! Aren't we just blessed when we come across those? I love the detailed background you provide with your shots too - a wee snapshot into your world. :) So hope you're better soon my friend. Loving bestest back! x

My word! Thank you so much Dear Sherry!

The colours are incredible, I agree. Sadly the overall quality of the upload from the scanned print is not the best. I have a horizontal version of similar image shot perhaps a couple of minutes apart from this one. And it is gloss print, as I recall. It was used to advertise (on a website and also used in a brochure) for friends who owned a health resort with almost the same view, since their establishment is the first as you go down my road. Only a relatively small area of native parkland seperates it from this "look out", which is a popular tourist attraction, as you can imagine! I am more fortunate than the tourists...I live here :) :) :)
Once I can access that particular horizontal shot, I will upload it. It will be much better quality-wise. However, it might be a few weeks before I can do that, owing to an injury that prevents from from doing even some simple tasks... Oh well! All in good time :)

Again, thank you!
Warmest Wishes,
Aniko:)

Great shot and surely a rare photo as the colours may never be like this again. Well done, I like this one.

Greetings Dear Stan! :)

Oh thank you my friend :)

I am not happy with the lack of "punch" in this uploaded image. The original has it! :(

But I am happy to be here and it is wonderful to "see' you again.

Hugs~
Aniko :)
